iBurst testers

To all those who have emailed me enquiring on how to become a beta tester - I am not employed by WBS, but merely a tester, I am unable to assist you. As far as I am aware, WBS selects their testers on invitation basis only.

Alternatively, you can try your luck at [email protected].

there has to be a catch in the price of iburst,or some catch. This cant be the answer to S.A internet problems.
From chatting to WBS they'll only be going full commercial next year - if so I'm glad to hear it !

This means more extensive testing has been done.
This means more towers have been commisioned and tested (they want 30 in jhb live before launch).
This MAY mean more extensive testing with a larger beta test group.

I am very happy to see a company taking a responsible approach to launching a service.

I believe ICASA has approved their license change already - so this is 100% legit.

While pricing may not be cheap it would hopefully be competitive - and right now that is what we as end users require.

Playkiller and hArTh, read my first post on page 1 of this topic for initial experiences. It rocks!

Hey, other testers. Why are you so shy? I don't intend becoming iBurst's ProAsm.

I believe there will be a limited rollout in the next few months. However, this will remain mainly a test phase, when strategic partners, and select users are taken in as beta testers to test the network in an environment simulating more closely to the loads to be experienced in the commercial rollout.

Disclaimer: I am not employed by WBS. My views are mine, and mine alone.

Damn, they have ugly bitch ass modems, but I guess service and speed are the only things that matter

This kinda looks promising since googling for "iburst sucks" doesn't yield any relevant results [:)]

From their web site...

* ... E-mail based support is very very fast (10-15min turn around) and as a last option can ring their 1300 85 4678 number. Can't see this really an issue as iBurst homepage has a status page for all pop's and email you with advanced outages, but old chicken egg theory, no connection, no email.

Here's something Sintech could take note of - the aussies aren't all bad!
