I was considering iBurst, but someone recommended Amobia. Sent them (Amobia) an email and I got a call (same day, or next day) from one of their guys and wanted to do some test on my new area. I told them to call me today since i just moved in yesterday. Got a call from the guy this morning, but could arrange anything since I'm still unpacking stuff and and. Impressed so far with them.

I can't seem to see their consumer products details on their website. All I saw was an uncapped for R300. I want a 10GB capped account.

Should I go iBurst or Amobia? I think SharkBait just moved to Amobia. How is the service and all and all.

i will probably give the guy a call to get more info.

Yes, I moved from Iburst, was on wireless 5 before their new packages and I am on the 3mbps capped 4.5GB package now.

Support is some of the best I have seen. If you check the other thread I started, you will see that onaz is on the uncapped one. He is currently busy downloading the internet ;) and I only use mine for online gaming. You will see some speed tests in that thread as well. :)

I am very happy with it, but have to say that 4.5GB isn't enough and I had bought 6GB for last month @ R49/GB... But last month was my first month and I checked out everything, incl utube.

You will also see, when you sign up, you can automatically add additional cap. Their site where you have to purchase additional cap, is a bit slow for me and it normally takes about 10mins for that cap to activate, unless you buy before you run out. :)

All and all, I would recommend AMOBIA any and every day over Iburst.

Very nice, may I ask what package you are on with them. I am looking for affordable with good reliable latency, not too fused about speed.

I was trialling their 4mbps uncapped home package @R879/m.

I was so impressed I decided to cancel my dsl and will be moving over to them in Jan 2012(calendar months notice :/).

If you have clear LOS the signal is excellent. I'm averaging a 4ms ping to the tower... Distance is about 5km odd.

I was keen to trial their capped packages as well, but ran out of time as I did it over a weekend. Also, for less than R500 you can get 11gb with a 5:1 contention ratio.

It's the one I will be going for.

Did you game on the uncapped one? R900 for 4mbps uncapped isn't that bad and if gaming is working, then I might even go for that.

Yeah, gaming was fine. Just got some strange lag spikes on cod4 igame servers... But otherwise it was great :) did 20gb for the 5 day trial without even trying.

Their usage tracker is also quite good!

sorry to say, but my love for amobia is fading. :(

Shark, I just wanted to say, Kawuleza have been awesome and I'm not even with them yet... Only in Jan... But I don't know if they offer wireless in jhb... So check that out before you drop amobia... :)

We don't have that option this side of the world.

I am at work now, so not sure if there is a problem, but I had some "spikes" last night in my game.

Main reason is, topup costs. Yes, R49 isn't that much, but you only start with 4.5GB a month and that is nothing. This month I bought 22GB @ R1079, which by any standard, is fooking baie! Even VC has/had 20GB @ R499...

Their website says they have coverage in JHB. I did "apply" for the 5 day trial, so I will find out what is going on when they phone me. But, I am dropping amobia, regardless. I'd rather look for something else.
