ICASA does not approve the phone, ICASA have no understanding of the technology Nor any equipment to test it themselves. (GO FIGURE).

Hmm. Icasa is supposed to regulate the very industry to which it outsources its functions? - No wonder that things are going so well.

So are Non-Icasa Approved Cell-phones Dangerous or something?
Is there evidence that imported phones from Dubai are very different from
locally approved phones?

We've had towers taken down by rogue devices that don't support the relevant standards properly.

Thus any phone on the network should be tested for compliance. (It's quite scary how many fail on first submission, btw.).

So next time you're trying to make a call and it won't work, you might ask yourself if maybe someone in the area is using one of these untested devices.

Now all we need is ICASA to setup shop at the airports and test all the phones that are going to be roaming on the SA networks.

Question is do the networks in SA trust the devices from foreign networks roaming here?? ie a authorised device on a GSM network from China roaming in SA
