ICASA makes ADSL pricing decision

Inclusion of the Local Loop in the Privatisation of Telkom.

It doesn't. They own the cable.

What gov can do is force telkom to provide access too the SAT3 cable @ wholesale.
The SAT3 Cable and the Local Loop should never have been bundled in the Privatisation of Telkom.
One has to seriously question the reasoning behind the decision to make it so at the end of the 1990's and the people that were involved at the time.
Was the decision out of ignorance to it's repercussions?

I heard yesterday that the decision to make the decision was imminent.

I reckon wait for lunch time (13:00). That's usually when ITWEB updates their site.

Why would ICASA need to submit to Telkom for approval  wtf? It's the other way around

They a bit quiet for my liking in any event .... :(
Too much bloody internal squabbling, I tell you!!

now I would like to know why the former moonlighting ICASA Councillor Mohala is still doing at ICASA? - especially after she told the media weeks ago that she would not be able to accept any offers from ICASA|PPCC to stay on for another 45 days as she had another job to go to...

no worries - she has already clearly demonstrated her ability to hold more than one job at a time ;)

No doubt it'll be a phased in approach to sooth telskommel so that by 2010 we will all have a 384kb standard line with a 10gb cap for R2000-00 pm.

Just enough so that one can stream the final match in low res.

Ikansa..World class my @ss.

Yep... Monday only. They still need time to nap.

As for what to expect, probably only a 10 cent saving

"the prices are in tact" or "we need to set up another commision" is propably what they will say

Or another 'reduction' along the lines of the 3% one due in August
