I've previously been very vocal on the art of the necro. I like to think my necros definitely have a level of substance & relevance.

What grinds my guys is okes (not directed to Bareback) that moan over menial crap. It's almost like those lot don't know how to forum.

I use the free tier for syncing, there are plenty of cheaper options available for storage including local and cloud based options.

True, but R60 a month for 200 GB is trivial, and no other storage option is going to work as nicely as iCloud.

Right now I'm uploading 82gb of photos I took this week. 200gb seems more trivial than the R60 tbh.

My "essential bits" are things like passwords, bookmarks, contacts, calendar, etc, and those are synced through iCloud. My laptop is synced locally in case of hardware failure.

I get an unlimited number of 15gb+ free from Google accounts, 1TB free from Microsoft, whatever Adobe gives me with my Photoshop bundle... why would I pay Apple even a "trivial" R60 for a paltry 200gb and still have to finance my "entire life" backup?

Nevermind all the spam my Gmail address was getting in the end. Switching to iCloud with hide my email took care of that and will stop it going forward.
 
I'm on the 2Tb plan for R199 p/m. It seems like a decent price but 2Tb gets eaten up way too quick nowadays.

Out of interest what do you actually pay for something similar and what are the limitations or hoops you need to jump through to use it.

iCloud : $4.99 per TB per month.
Google: $5.13 to per TB per month (converted from ZAR)
Backblazs : $6 per TB per month.

$60 per year for 5TB backup and 5TB cloud with iDrive. My NAS is linked to the backup segment and syncs automatically. My Mac mini syncs to the cloud storage.

What about say 4x iPhones, 3 x iPads and and 2 x Macs?
