Idols is for DSTV subscribers, it's not held by the government or some charity pledge for South Africa.
If most of those subscribers happen to be White, then so be whatever there decision, racist or not. We don't say that the SA elections are racist because most who vote happen to be blackeithher.

this country is now run by racists again. It is beyond me when a judge wants a black singer like Cindy to win a show yet when she sings you can here her black pronunciation of words coming through, an excellent singer should be able to sing "english" songs without bringing dialect into it.
there are 2 radio personalities who still live in the past and harp on the past and bring it up whenever they can and that is racist.
i said before idols was over that Elvis Blue would win because of his name and the marketing around it.

size has nothing to do with it, and yes if she or anyone wants to be know internationally as a singer they should be able to sing at least properly. you cannot be taken seriously if you pronounce words wrong in a song.

in any case mara does have some sort of point, in my opinion elvis was an inferior performer when compared to lloyd, other excellent black contestants also lost out in previous years against mediocre white singers, heinz v brandon and biance, anke v posoletso and zama just to name a few.

it sounds like you are referring to accent and by that logic any one who is not a first language english speaker (or more accurately anyone who doesn't have a "white" accent) should just stfu because they cannot sing "properly"

... then the singers must sing in their home language and be judged accordingly. No-one said that they all try and imitate some R&B artist.
If they are 'covering' an international artist's song, then they either need to perform the song as accurately as possible OR they must do the entire song with their own interpretation, which could include a different accent.
But to do the majority of the song as a perfect cover and then fail in places is a fail.

The Idols show is a farce in itself, a money making scam. I cannot fathom how so many people can tune into this show. Whether it is racist or not is besides the point.

That is not true, the black elite do have DSTV and can vote for whomever they want to vote for.
