1stly; It seems the Neotel rep (the one we got to know and 'sorta' love) has buggered off and has been replaced by someone new.

2ndly; I received a contact number from another MyBB member last night of a lady at Neotel who helped him cancel his account (didn't pay anything)

I did plan to phone her this morning and start things, but with the 'new' Neotel rep bouncing around the forums I've decided to put that on hold and see what he can bring to the party.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Neotel is not about it's technology, Neotel is about it's people, it's only as GOOD as it's people - if the people care, Neotel can be the difference.

I've been with them through the good and the bad (duration of my contract) and I've seen it work GREAT and I've seen it SUCK - let's see if we can get it GREAT again - not only for ME but for everyone on MyBB who uses Neotel.

Please can you clarify some of the issues, in an open and honest way, that would be much appreciated.

I live in Broadacres, Sandton. My connection is either hitting close to 3mbit or chilling out at 512k. Seems to be very inconsistent.

I don't want to pay this sort of cash for a 512k connection.

MH, take a deep breath, that's why I have threads for my issues, I post ALL information in them, this way, when I take it further, I have proof for all to see.

Hi,

I'm in Parow CPT and we also experiencing random line drops with up/down line speeds.

Tried the Neoping software (keep alive software for dial up) by "Keeper" but it doesn't help. Anybody know how to check which tower you connect to?

Have noticed how sensitive the device is. I've been able to improve my RSSI from 85 to 65:eek: just by moving the device around the house to find the best location. I've already bought the Poynting Yagi antenna, just need to install and test but I'm expecting good results considering my previous results indoors.

Note: 1) keep the device away from walls 2) the higher you go the better(achieved 65 by going upstairs)

Just trying to make the best of the device as i can't afford to cancel.

Neotel support is up to **** :mad: I agree - if you call them, describe your problems, especially, if you know computers, then their answer is "i don't know" but if you don't know anything about computers - they send you on a complete circle and eventually, you just accept the problem is your side - they blame everything from your anti virus to your firewall - seriously, they don't need people in tech support, because they know F'all - the ones that do are honest and basically tell you 'they can't help you, wait for the technical department' and that is just the worst part.
