BEAT That I dare you...

Checking out all these posts.... I don't think I can... Maybe it's time some of those fires start in CT again, then Gdiza could do something other than whine... What are you going to do if you actually get sorted with your connection?:p

Do some downloading?!?!? :D

Neotel sorting something out? Do you live on planet Earth?

This is the last week I'm with Neotel - I want to be sorted out by Friday the 19th or I'm going to demand a cancellation.

^^Gdiza man, i am in the same boat. I gave them till the last friday to sort things out.

Tomorrow my lawyers are serving them. Legal action is being taken - will keep you all posted.

Neotel are installing a antenna tomorrow at my place.

They wanted to install it on Thursday, but I told them that is not good enough, I'm giving Neotel till ... well, basically Saturday morning so they have to install the antenna tomorrow which gives me enough time to play with the speeds, see if they improve (and I'm talking going back to 100+ KB/s!)

If it's not at that by Saturday morning or after the antenna guy is finished tweaking etc - then I'm sorry, I'm not paying for this bloody service - I will suck up my pride and go back to ADSL but first I'll go to the bank and put a stop to the Neotel debit order - and Neotel have nothing on me, I've played along nicely with them for long enough now.

The guy from the company that installs the Neotel antennas was just laughing when I told him what speeds I get with Neotel - I was even told "off record" that he is on ADSL and will never goto Neotel - how is that for a slap in Neotel's face!

Oh, some random information for you guys - according to my "Bandwidth Meter Pro"

I average 1GB of data transfer a day (that is - If I do my downloading all day!) then I'll do 1GB in a day.

When I look back to when Neotel was actually bloody working, I used to do on average about 10GB a day.

Massive difference eh!

I hope the antenna helps for you. It bearly did anything for me. Here are some results I took the other day with the outside Antenna and Neotel's one. Not a huge difference. I use to connect to PN 264..That just vanished completly and that's where my 1mbps+ speeds were..

They're faking *******s for just taking down towers and moving them as they please.

Antenna:

Cape Town Server
PN:432
RSSI:54

1:0.45mbps/0.07mbps- 283ping
2:0.48mbps/0.08mbps- 251ping
3:0.44mbps/0.09mbps- 282ping

Neotel:

Cape Town Server
PN:432
RSSI:80

1:0.44mbps/0.09mbps 250ping
2:0.42mbps/0.11mbps 278ping
3:0.24mbps/0.10mbps 271ping

It seems RSSI doesn't really mean jack all. I'm just waiting it out 1 or 2 more months to see what Seacom brings.

The Neotel antenna installers are NOT coming today, they can't find stock of the Neotel aerial/antenna's anywhere... this after the guy PROMISED me they would come today.

Can't Neotel do anything properly, let alone find people who can do their part of the jobs properly?

Hi all,

Update on my situation.

Neotel's "installers" called me this morning to basically say that they can't do the installation because they do not have aerials / antennas to do it - I told the lady that was NOT good enough and they must make a plan, latest I'll accept is tomorrow (remember, I was told by Neotel or Albert Goosen that I would have my antenna setup by FRIDAY)

Riaan (Boss or probably a manager of some sort) called me and well, he seems to know his thing because he managed to find me an antenna at double the price which Neotel are apparently paying for.

They are coming to my property at some point today to do a signal test and if able, will install the antenna tonight or if need be, start tonight and finish tomorrow (light reasons)

From what I understand from Riaan - his 'inbox' is full of 'top brass' e-mails moaning to get my case sorted out - Riaan mentioned he was under huge pressure - which is good if you ask me.

Anyways, at some point in the next hour or so, stuff will be happening my side.

It seems I have done something right if people from Neotel are moaning at their outsourced companies to get stuff sorted - maybe it's because I've got such a big mouth on me

*sighs* shame gdiza is that what you think? That it's beacuse you have a big mouth. Doesn't say much for you does it?

Atleast he's making himself heard and trying to make things better as we all want a better service.

Unlike yourself who has nothing better to do than make stupid comments about what others are doing.

Oh, regarding the guys who came out today to my place;

Check this...

LOL at Neotel, they are amusing
they are just such a disaster.
they didnt have their job book with them
so they asked me to type out a letter for them
saying they were here and did an assessment etc
then they didnt have a pen
or any notepad
so i had to supply them

Aiiiiiiii tog!

Cool, Glad to here they sorrting you out mate. Please let us know if this sorts out your porblem.

Hi all,

This is the antenna Neotel "out sourced" technicians will be installing tomorrow for me.

They came here earlier to do it, but left because they didn't bring a small enough bracket.

Anyways, they coming around tomorrow (18th June 2009) to finish the job.

PS: Yes, I like my duvet ;) now p1ss off! :) haha.

Poynting is actually pretty good - been to their store a couple times - very knowledgeable and friendly people. After i bought my antenna the lady at the store even phoned me to ask if everything was working and if i was happy - its very rare to see customer service like that.

The other time i went the store was supposed to be closed but one of the staff was in there doing his books - saw me @ the entrance and unlocked the door for me and helped me out even though it was well after the store closed.
