Immigrating to the UK

Rowlands Castle. They were travelling up the A3 at the time.
Hah. My son and his wife live in Rowland's Castle. For another 2 weeks...
It's consistently two or 3 degrees colder there than where we are on the coast

Ah makes sense then. Even my old ends in Epsom had a lot of snow on the ground.

Anyone else get spammed by SARS this morning?

Dear Taxpayer Tax reference **********, as previously communicated to you, a recurring administrative non-compliance penalty has been imposed by SARS, and requires your urgent attention. For more information please contact the SARS Contact Centre on 0800 00 7277. Regards SARS

(No previous communication, and I haven’t lived in SA since 2015).

I got this on the 9th of Feb and ignored it. I got one tonight as well. Suddenly, my MIL also got one tonight. We have the same reference numbers, starting with 0114xxxxx, so I assume it must be a scam.

Turns out I actually owed R500 in fines for not filing in 2016. Had to reregister for efiling to check, and lo and behold, I’m now getting spam mails from co.za email addresses.

You should have used a hide my email address to register.

Well, I am going to f**king call them in any event. All my tax returns are up to date. But, I suspect it could be the fact that I cancelled an application for an importer code as I could not give them all the documents they needed. If this is the case, I believe they are hitting everyone with R500 fines probably to pay the poor grants or something.

How is it to drive in the snow?
I’ll ask the missus when she gets to work :) AWD so should be fine and roads are gritted. Last night when I drove home it wasn’t forming any kind of layer until after sundown. Roads are typically not slippery here though and temps not low enough for ice right now.

Actually worked out in my favour. Submitted my return, SARS selected it for verification. Got a notification today that they revised it, and I’m now getting R5800 back. Score.

The butcher i visit for meat makes boerewors and biltong (has supplied both for the big SA gatherings in the past), both are excellent (all spices and equipment come from SA) but I don't think they do online delivery.

You could give them a ring and enquire.

Whereabouts are you?
There's a couple of franchises of biltong and Bangers around. Ex SA chef who now makes boerie and biltong in England. Hands down best wors ever.

I’m in the south east country side. Normally I just pick up wors at the sa shops if I go in to the office.
So I reckon it’s time mix things up and try so thing new
