Immigrating to the UK

Should we start a "MyBBer's in the UK" (Like the NL thread) thread that isn't focused on immigration perhaps? Place for Saffers in the UK, where to find ****, setup things, post stories, etc - or is this thread fine?

If someone is looking for immigration stuff, come to this thread - for everything else, a different thread.

Would be cool to see who all on here in in the UK as well. Just a thought.

Alright mate, pipe down.

Congrats, when is she flying out?

My SWV took 4 days as well.

Not sure yet, sometime in Sept. probably.

My visa took like 3 weeks to the day, but last year this time it was much busier for some reason...she said there were like only 3 people at TLS when she went in.

I wonder if the rule changes/price increase have already had a big effect on amount of applications...

I have a beer52 sub running, it's expensive but you get some interesting beers. Mostly craft stuff tho.

Anyway, just paid for wife’s visa…131k fml
I've subbed to Beer52 with 60% off for the first two months.
I've heard they give some very good discounts when you try to cancel so I'll be doing that next month.

Yea I do one month then pause it for one month. I basically only have a beer or two over the weekends, but I guess that will change when the wife gets here...

Yeah dude, TLS was quite. I had like 10 people there. Was in and out, within 20 mins. The rule changes I think have definitely had an impact as well as price increases for visitor visa (Now £115). Normally this time of year TLS is stupd busy with visitors visa to UK as its "summer"

Madri is ok
Stella isn't terrible
Moretti is ok as well
I am enjoying Cruzcampo. Madri and Morretti are also good. My issue with Beer52 was that you get one can of a particular beer , flavour to sample. I never found one that I liked enough to buy more.

I'd say the big move has officially started now.

The animals have just been collected. They have a long journey ahead of them.

They have gone to kennels today.
State vet visit tomorrow morning
Kennels over the weekend
Flight out to Dubai on Monday
8hr layover
Flight to Heathrow - landing Tuesday
2hr drive from airport to new house.

The people that collected the animal had another dog with them, who is also flying to the UK on Monday on the same flight(s).

Animals went into their crates perfectly fine almost zero issues. Gave them all calmeze so they were pretty relaxed and even the other dog they had was chilled.

House feels so empty without the little bastards around. Hoping they will be okay.

For anyone interested in what is takes to send 6 animals to the UK and costs:

4 dogs and 2 cats:

- All need rabis shots and microchips - ±5k
- Blood draws and tests - ±18k
- Door to door shipping from JHB to UK - R160k

Fortunately zero quarantine needed. We hope to take the dogs for walks on Tuesday along the seafront.

Total: R183k all in and three to four months of preparation needed.

Good luck - and good on you for stumping up to take your pets along with you.

Which company were you using for animals?

Ah okay, hope everyone gets there safely. We are using animal travel services but also got some quotes from JetPets.

We just paid deposit for the crates etc. going to be a stressful time until they get here. Two cats and one doggo, was around 80k as far as I remember

Yeah it's a lot of paperwork and stress.

Animals went into their crates this morning. They seem proper and nice and spacious. Out in some of their blankets in there so there is a smell of home with them and lots of calmeze. I wish they were flying tomorrow. But then they would get there too early and weekend arrivals are stupid expensive for animals.

When do they fly and how many are you taking?
