MyBroadband is facing the same challenge as other publications with the noise level of comments below articles increasing. I am referring to the Disqus comments – not the forum.

We are looking at ways to increase the quality of the comments, and two options have been proposed in-house which may work:
  1. Create a white-list where only people who post valuable, interesting, or even funny comments (basically on-topic) are allowed. This will help to remove spam and troll comments.
  2. Move all comments to the forum, where there are more “peer-review” from other forum members to drown out the trolls and off-topic comments.
Re-active comment moderation is unfortunately not an option because it is so resource intensive.

Your feedback on these options and other potential solutions will be great.

Re-active comment moderation, so we can see who is really your target and what kind of comments you do not like.

Hoping you will provide official stats, including names...

@rpm my comments are being deleted, there is nothing wrong with them? this has happened a number of times? compared to some of the comments that get through? I dont comment often.

How has 1 not been implemented yet to skip the queue and only check the ones not on list.

You lose chance if flagged a couple of times.
