Indoor IP/WiFi Camera Recommendations

I have this one setup in the lounge.

Can view the lounge, front door, open plan kitchen and braai room door from this cam. Can rotate 360 degrees. Good quality video and night vision. And a big plus: The app is good. (Many times the camera is good but the app sucks.) Recommended.

Thanks, ordered one which should be here on Wednesday :)

I have just ordered two Sonoff GK-200MP2-B camera's and a few smart switches from RoboFactory to get started. Thanks for the lead @AlphaJohn.

My order has arrived, quicker than I expected and packaged very well. I have already setup one camera using the eWelink app to play around but want to find a more secure option.

Use the RTSP feed from the camera to Tinycam or any other viewing software. You can also integrate the feed into Home Assistant but it does not seem as stable as Tinycam.

Thanks, already have the camera feed in to my HIKVision NVR using RTSP, I can't use the PT controls though so not sure if there is a workaround.

I also got one of the Sonoff Basic Smart switches up and running for a light in our main bedroom.

Yeah, I think it needs ONVIF for that to work? Was able to get PT kind of working in HA though.

My next step is to look at HA, hoping I can integrate my current CCTv, alarm, the new Sonoff cameras and whatever smart switches I decide to install.

You say that as if its a bad thing? Sure you can run it in a VM if you don't want a dedicated PC?
Not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. I don't have a linux pc, but I have an old Win7 machine that is running as Plex server. Started a VM for HA on that now to test out, so can add another one for Ubuntu to run Zoneminder.

Have a look here for PT controls, might be able to adjust it for yours.

Oh there is better ways and ones that make that it still works once internet is down:

Buy one of thease

Install this with This

Guide over at youtube if you need

And tada no more IFTTT needed as you have all the automations you need, it even works with NODE RED
Plus you get to have access anywhere:

You make it sound so simple, but actually thanks. I already use SonoffLAN, I just didn't realise it can handle the Sonoff GK-200MP2-B Camera as well.

I am seriously thinking of getting a couple of these when I move to my new house end of the year.

No, sonof doesn't support that.

They use a proprietary protocol.

Its the biggest criticism of the camera, no PT via RSTP.

Yes, which is why I said I think you need an ONVIF capable camera to use PT. But with the SonoffLAN integration you can now issue PT commands to the camera and it works. I have it on mine. Only issue is the HA camera feed is delayed by about 7 seconds (seems to be a common issue, not sure if it can be improved?).

Sorry, I thought you said Sonof is ONVIF, all good.
