Inside Steve Jobs' brain

I haven't seen an Apple store in SA that creates the ambience of the the four zones like is done overseas.
They might try to but they don't achieve it.

To be fair, most electronics are produced in this manner. But for such a draconian overlord such as Jobs, sourcing the cheapest and charging the highest, it makes you think about his ethics, no?

Makes me think of the ethics of the millions of people that buy them apples. Jobs was a business man, nothing more really, consumerism is the real evil.

The unfortunate reality is the human race doesn't give a continental about the poor suffering Chinese factory workers. And booh f ucking hooh, as we so often say in the south African context, you voted for this government, live with the consequences. The welfare of Chinas work force is the states responsibility...

Even the IPAD's... Come on. I have both one and two just wanted to see if the second one would be any better than the first one. Both are cr@p. Sure Apple set a trend but the opposition made it so much better so quickly. Just the memory limitation...please. Loads of ....

You bought TWO ipads because you think theyre crap? :wtf:

His success was and still is, based on gullible people (Apple fan bois)

Sure...that's the only reason my and my lady love the iPad...because we are gullible.
Not because it was first, or because it was big, or fast and responsive, or had 1000's of apps....but because we were.....gullible.

Maybe that's why I drink Coke too....because i'm Gullible right?

Yeah I drink Coke because I think their CEO is uber awesome..

same with Apple..
I only bought Apple products because I thought Steve Jobs was cool, and I wanted to make him richer and more successful....nothing to do about me actually wanting to use the actual products really :p

There is a shona saying, '' wafa wanaka'' which means once dead, people will only say good things about you. In Steve's case its mixed which probably means he was a A class tosser.

Got to give him his kudos for turning apple into what it is now.

That's because we don't have Apple in this country, just the vastly inferior rip-off artists Core.

^that^

If it wasn't for those man-love inducing turtlenecks I would never have bought any Apple products.

IMO gargamel said it best ...

Respecting 'big men' cos they have money .. what a laugh. Is it an African thing, like where the biggest criminals are 'respected' just 'cos they 'have made it'?

You want a measure of a real man, look beyond the money, and in that respect Steve was a class A tosser.

It's possible.

Every single review points out the this tablet is THE tablet to have, own and buy.It has ZERO flaws and it will revolutionise everything and change your way of thinking. However - you buy it and realise it's actually rather limited in what it can do ... but no one really speaks about the negative until you have it yourself.

I bought the iPad II and went to the forum to query and complain ... big mistake! iSheep are among the most loyal guys ever and to even hint that things aren't that great, is looking for trouble.

The only subsection on the forum you need to be careful of posting, is Apple .... you really have to think about what to type. Try starting with 'I LOVE my Apple iPad - but ....' and it soften the blow.

EDIT : I LOVE my iPad, but I just want to be honest

The Facts are this:
1) Pixar was a success after he bailed them out. Yep, that's a multi billion dollar company right there.
2) Apple was a success after he bailed them out. Yep, another a multi billion dollar company right there too.

Don't say the guy was a idiot because YOU don't like him... he's clearly a successful guy.

We are not crazy fanboi's for liking his products, YOU are the crazy fanbois for this irrational hate towards him, apple, or the people who buy apple products.
I think it's all rooted in jealousy because you can't afford it, and now hate the guy.

And if you simply don't like Apple products......just don't friggen buy it!

Good reviewers have been pointing out its flaws since day one.

Also, part of the reason you took heat from day 1 was because your were condenscending from even before you got it. Asking people questions and at the same time calling them isheep isnt going to win you any friends. The funny thing is half the people in the apple section(the isheep as you call them) are actually windows users throughout the day and own many different pieces of non apple tech.

Give that man a Bells!

I'm the first to admit I'm an Apple fanboy but I don't run around calling Steve Ballmer or Larry Page or Sergey Brin baby eating, nun raping, puppy murdering devil spawn just 'cos they are involved in tech companies whose products I CHOOSE not to use. Seriously, go right ahead and use Windows or Linux or Android or WP, whatever floats your boat. None of those choices make you less of a human being than I am.
Oh, and if we all HAVE to think like the haters on this thread, can we please set up a roster. Clearly, other than those enlightened few, we are all incapable of choosing where to live, what to eat, what car to drive, what music to listen to, what movies and television shows to watch and what people to date... It's going to get crowded and, without planning, traffic into and out of wherever you live will be hell... At least we'll all be in the same type of car, listening to the same radio station... The conversation where you explain to your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend that 'cos you like shagging them, no one else, ever, is allowed happy time with anyone else will be interesting 'tho.

Anyway, back on topic, Steve was an extraordinary man... Fallible as humans as are but, for me at least, the world is a better place for him.

That's not true.

Firstly I called no one an iSheep until they'd either proved or not proved it - definitely not the first post. In fact, here's the first ...

I've wanted a tablet for ages - a Samsung Galaxy actually - but every month something crops up and I've never been able to buy one

Now FNB have launched a tablet for R200pm (iPad 2 16GB + 3G) which - although it's an Apple - I may over look some of the lacking features and get instead. As someone that hasn't used an iPad, I have a few questions :

Lack of Flash - I've heard different stories. Some users are happy because it blocks Flash adverts. Adobe says you're missing 70% of the net - yet Steve Jobs says this :

What they don’t say is that almost all this video is also available in a more modern format, H.264, and viewable on iPhones, iPods and iPads. YouTube, with an estimated 40% of the web’s video, shines in an app bundled on all Apple mobile devices, with the iPad offering perhaps the best YouTube discovery and viewing experience ever.

So if Apple decide to make an app - it works (ie Youtube) but if they don't (ie smaller video streaming sites) - can you still view? What about this H.264 Steve is talking about? What does www.nandos.co.za do?

Secondly - if I chose not to lie about my location and select SA, I understand it cuts out many features and apps to get. What features and apps do I lose?

Do you need iTunes to run it? So if I get home and want to load a few photo's, do I need to import to iTunes first - then sync? Or will it appear as another drive when inserted to the PC?

I think all legit questions - right?

From someone never having touched it - I'm allowed to ask about Flsah? Or Youtube? Or the App Store?

I did my research - plenty of 3rd parties reviews and actually some of the research on the Apple site. The last part of the research would be asking you - the users - but every issue had a work around ... or not needed ... or I should sell the iPad. Very few of you acknowledged any issue ... and that's when you get the label

EDIT : I had a few guys come to me in private to assist with issues I has, and offer links - and eve gave me their home address to pop over and he'd help me get everything going. They're a different type of thinker to the average Apple user IMO

That's better...

You I don't class as one - purely because in a few threads you've said 'I agree, that is a silly idea' - you see both pros and cons. But wow, you get these guys that defend everything on it instead of simply admitting that it is a stupid idea
