Hi guys

For some reason when I try to run the installer software on my Macbook it gets to the point where it's going to install then gives me an error saying "an error has occured". I used the software on the disc and also what I downloaded but keep getting the same problem.

Anyone have any idea?

Try creating a new user account under your preferences. Then try install the Software under that account. If it successfully installs i can confidently say that there is a corrupt preference file somewhere in your main account. I would suggest getting an Apple Technician to take a look at it for you.

If it is a plist problem it usually takes a few minutes to get it all fixed up. I hope it helps...

Another thing you can try is open the Disk Utility and run "Repair Permissions" There might be some corrupt permissions not allowing the Vodafone app to install properly.

Un-install it three times.
Reboot
Repair permissions.
Install
Reboot
Activate
Get online.

The Vodafone SW is really iffy!

What happens with mine is I plug in the modem, click on the Voda SW. It pops up and down, asks for my Pin and when I click Activate My CPU usage runs to 100% and in no time Fans start cracking in because temperature is shooting off the charts. I have to open the Activity monitor and end the Voda SW process then all turns back to normal...

Now what I do is open the SW and just put my Pin code in, I don't click "activate" then I Command-Q the Voda SW and connect via Internet connect. Works like a charm every time :p

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I'll try the user account thing a bit later.

I should however have mentioned that it's the MTN E220 on Tiger 10.4.10
Any known bugs?

Hmm, MTN is a diffirent kettle of fish entirely.

Only way I know how is to see where the things are installed from the source installer and then manually removing those files from the sys lib.

So I tried to install on a different account and same problem. Any idea how I sort this out?

use the uninstall option on the vodacom SW... then reinstall. This fixed my issues.. and i had bad issues.. really bad

It's the MTN software, no option to uninstall unfortunately. Sadness!

Interesting, I'm downloading it now and will test with the E220 with Vodacom.

Will let you know shortly if it works. :-)

It's super odd. I've installed the exact same software on a Macbook before. True it was running Leopard but surely that wouldn't make a difference?

VertigoZA that software works like an absolute charm! I'm buying it now so I can turf this stupid Vodafone SW!
