Intermittent Connectivity Issues

From the pictures you sent, everything looks correct.

@AfriNatic should confirm if your service is mapped, or if its needed for TT.
Usually, you'd be redirected to a login page if its unmapped, and you arent.
So everytime my connection gets mapped, it takes me to login.afrihost.com where i enter my number and pin. The internet then works for a few mins before disconnecting again. This happens daily.

Now we're getting somewhere, that was very important to share initially.

Only one device can be mapped at a time. Once you map your laptop, only your laptop will ever work, any other devices are disconnected, unless you remap again.

For this reason, you need to connect a ROUTER to your ONT, then everything else must connect to your ROUTER.
Once thats done, you map your ROUTER by connecting your laptop to your ROUTER, and it will work.

Can you access login.afrihost.com if you are connected directly to the ONT?
Yes it allows me to go to the site when the internet is up. I then put in my number and pin code which is sent to my phone. The internet then works for a few mins before disconnecting again.

I've done the router part as well. Where I was asked to keep my router connected to the ont and then Hard reset my router while the tech support unmaps my network. Remapped to the Huawei router where I then need to activate my account again. Done this a few times and the internet works for a few mins before breaking down again. We then tried the laptop to the ONT, a new router + i changed my Lan cable 3 times.

it also says when re -activating.

That my email is now linked to my device (This was already active)
This is for my router.

Yeah, if thats the case, it sounds like everything on your side is correct in my opinion.
For good measure, I'd factory reset the router again, connect to the WAN port, and login to get mapped, and test it out.

It should work, and if it dies again, leave it in exactly this state and get hold of @AfriNatic and @Afrigirl for some help in further steps.

If there is insane multi-cast flooding like Afrinatic said, that is always ongoing, that could be it, but I doubt it'd be this severe unless something is terribly wrong.

Sure I’ll give it a go again tomorrow. Thank you guys.

Will keep this active until I have a solution.

Does the FNO not have client isolation?

Unfortunately according to them their vendor said they do not. So they aren't really forthcoming with solutions and blame our clients and their supports answer to all the tickets we log is calling the client and telling them to switch to a different ISP. It's as blatant as that.

That is an insecure and bad network and personally would not recommend anyone use it.

I'm guessing there is no way to change the FNO as I only have TTconnect come out. Can it be that load shedding affects the TTConnect infrastructure? is there a TTConnect presence on this forum?

Correct. In your area they are the only game in town but never seen them on the forums.

But put your ISP's feet to the flames. Insist they reimburse you and complain to ISPA. Its their problem to resolve, not yours!

Ironically, in this situation if you read between the lines you will be better off on an ISP that uses PPPoE. Using DHCP with no client isolation on a public network stinks. Also a smaller ISP with less users will have a lower probablity of these types of faults occurring, but not guaranteed.

Thank you @r00igev@@r ,

I have put in my cancellation through with Afrihost as well as asked them for an early release of my line so i may sign up with another ISP. I am still waiting for the line to be released.
I will look for another ISP but my options are:

1. AXXESS
2. WEBAFRICA
3.COOLIDEAS
4. FREDD ISP

Any Recommendation which to go with? A TTConnect technician advised I go with FREDD as they are the ISP for TTConnect but I haven't heard of them before.

Don't know how they connect but they use the same AX3 as AH. I might be a bit biased but personally won't use any Huawei stuff. I have trust issues.
2. WEBAFRICA
Eish!
3.COOLIDEAS
They use PPPoE but confirm before you pay.
4. FREDD ISP
Never heard of them. Find out how they connect and what routers they use. They seem to have insider knowledge which could potential be beneficial.
