International link down

im on 4MB uncapped. But My RS isnt connecting at all. I got notice from Openweb of some issue that they themselves weren't sure what the cause was. So i guess we are at their mercy until such time as it is resolved. The message did indicate it could take 3 hours.

3 hours to resolve the unknown, most impressive.

Haha yip. Wish all the complainers and whiners would cancel their account with mweb and move onto something "better". Please I dare you :D

That's what I've been saying. I don't argue anymore, I just go "OK, leave. Thanks, kbye." That way I have more BW to play with :)

My speeds very erratic... I hit 300kb/s then low to about 80kb/s... back and forth.

This 8gig file's gonna take a while... lol

What happened to keeping us posted? :(

I was thinking that as well, Mweb today is Wednesday... Dont you normally crash over the weekend :-)

It makes sense if you think about it: Wednesday is 'Klein Saterdag'

Latency to the UK via SEACOM seems to have improved around 8.30pm, but local latency on Mweb still seems to be high (100-150ms), and the situation is not yet back to normal (total latency to Europe about 350ms).

Edit: MWeb Network Status page says the international issue is closed.

local gaming affected?

so im still getting mad lag on local gaming servers.. 100-150ms on quake live.. where i normally sit @ 50ish ping.. just moved to mweb today.. regretting it.:wtf:

Why is a little voice in the back of my head telling me we are gonna have to get used to these latencies over the next few weeks/months.

Hy praat K@K man, just tested Telkominternet with Astraweb; 400-450Mbps, MWEB; 30-40Mbps, HEAVY shaping going on here.

Why don't you do yourself a favor and read MWEB's T&C, this is a shaped service, so what do you expect? If you want unshaped get the business package.

I did myself a favour - i read the T&C - nowhere does it state that my 4Mb/s line will be reduced to an average of 50Kb/s http download...perhaps i missed the section....i doubt it though.
Maybe someone from MWEB could enlighten me - i doubt that too just so by the way!
