PROBLEM:
After start-up my Windows 10 desktop PC connects automatically to WiFi with Internet access. GoogleDrive and Dropbox sync successfully. About 2 to 4 minutes after start-up, the Internet access is disconnected although the WiFi connection remains intact. Internet is still available on other devices (smart phone, laptop) using the same WiFi. This happens whether applications on the PC such as email or Internet browsers are opened or not. The same happens after a restart.

To restore Internet access I have to disconnect and reconnect (sometimes more than once) to the WiFi network on the desktop. Here after Internet access remains without a problem until power down.

This problem happened before after a Windows update. Somehow I resolved it with the attempts mentioned below. It returned - not sure but probably again after a Windows update.

ATTEMPTED TO FIX:
I have researched and attempted all possible solutions that I could find on the Internet without success. This includes:
Uninstalled and re-installed the WiFi adapter
Moved the WiFi adapter to a different USB port
Changed the power management settings for the WiFi adapter
Checked that the WiFi adapter has the latest driver
Rebooted router
Disabled proxy server in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
Performed a Network Reset
Disabled Avast temporarily

MY EQUIPMENT:
Desktop PC with Windows 10 Home 64-bit version 1903 (up to date with the latest updates installed)
CPU is Intel Core i7 6700 @ 3.40GHz processor
16GB RAM
Gigabyte Motherboard
Internet connection with fibre optic - uncapped, 40Mbs download
ZyXEL WiFi router in a room 2m x 4m where all devices are used
EDIMAX 150Mbps Wireless 802.11bgn Nano USB Adapter
Rode NT-USB Mini microphone
No Bluetooth devices
Avast antivirus software
Google Chrome internet browser

Have you tried setting a static IP to each device connected to your Wifi?
Does the PC holds its internet connection when connected via LAN/ cable

what about the usb selective suspend setting in additional power settings.

did you manually delete the drivers after uninstalling them, in the system32\drivers directory.

ive seen a similar problem persist while trying different usb wifi adapters and reinstalling windows 10. turned out to be something with the usb ports sharing power and likely needs a bios update to fix, if possible.

None of the other devices (laptops, several smart phones, even visitors with laptops) experience this problem.
I cannot test the PC workstation with a cable - too far away from router.

I do not see "usb selective suspend settings" under the additionalpower settings. Can you direct me please.

In a 2m x 4m room??

I had similar kak with my PC and my WiFi card...eventually just ripped it out and using Ethernet now.

Zero hassles...

settings > system > power & sleep > additional power settings > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > usb settings > usb selective suspend setting
