Please help me! I'm pulling my hair out here!

I am trying to download large updates for Apple OS and for iPhone, but my downloads simply stop shortly after starting it, and never continues (downloads stop at between 30 and 100 Mb out of a total of 800+ Mb for example). I reset my router, changed browsers, but nothing hepled.

I don't know if the Seacom issue could be to blame - I had this exact same problem in the past too and I can't think that Seacom was down then too (although it may be a strong possibility given the relatively poor availability of the line).

Is the problem with Telkom maybe, or with MWEB? I am on MWEB 4M uncapped.

Regards

I have the same problem with my ipod touch update on Mweb 1 meg

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using MyBroadband Android App

Did my ipad and iphone without any hassels on Afrihost on Thursday.

Does the same thing happens when you do app updates or normal downloads?

I have the same issues on several iTunes downloads. I have contacted them with regards to solving the issue but they gave me a whole lot of waffle. Basically what happened to me: My downloads would stop and restart from 0 at exactly 20.0MB. When I contacted them at first they said it was a limitation when downloading other 3G, but since I am using ADSL I rather suspect it is their 3G limitation that is bugging out. Of course they will never admit it. I finally managed to get the file downloaded by using another ISP which gave me a different IP address...

Yes, does not matter if I use Safari, Chrome or the internal update process of MacOS. All three behave exactly in the same manner.

Good morning brazz, Are you using a download manager when doing your downloading?

Signup for a free 1GB capped account with Afrihost, and use that data to see if it makes difference. You've got nothing to lose, except possibly loyalty to your current ISP.

I was having the same problem with Mweb even before Seacom went down. Every download would stop after 80-99% without finishing and even when I switched over to another ISP and used that to finish downloading I would find some of the files corrupted. It stopped on Thursday/Friday and everything is back to normal but I'm not sure what caused it.

Aaaaaargh!!! This is sooo frustrating!! Just restarted the download (819 MB) and it stopped after just 6.2 MB. What on earth could cause this?

I'm about to try Afrihost account as suggested above to see if it is my ISP or not. Will keep you posted.

Unfortunately there are no more 1GB free Afrihost accounts left for me to try. Will have to make another plan.

I'm with axxess & experienced a similar issue previously. currently having no issues & think it's more an iTunes download issue than ISP issue. If u looking for e.g ios5 updates I'd suggest asking an apple store to assist as they will gladly put it on a mem stick ( your own one) for you & guide u as to update from a flash drive

I don't think it is an iTunes issue. The update manager failed to download the operating system update, where after I tried to download the file manually from Apple's website. These downloads also failed.

I installed a download manager out of desperation and the file downloaded completely in just under 30 minutes.

Definitely an Apple issue. All downloads through iTunes are failing for me. I'm getting various error codes and have to run them again.

...perhaps the Apple servers are still too busy after all the updates on almost all the devices were released a few days ago.
