Here are Apple’s official release notes on iOS 16.5 new features and bug fixes. The build number for today’s update is 20F66.

A new Pride Celebration wallpaper for the Lock Screen to honor the LGBTQ+ community and culture

Sports tab in Apple News gives easy access to stories, scores, standings, and more, for the teams and leagues you follow

My Sports score and schedule cards in Apple News take you directly to game pages where you can find additional details about specific games

Fixes an issue where Spotlight may become unresponsive

Addresses an issue where Podcasts in CarPlay may not load content

Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings may reset or not sync across all devices

Something that's been grinding my gears is them only releasing 'cool stuff' if it's either in the BLM or LGBTQ theme. They did it the coolest watch face, and now they're doing it with a nice wallpaper/animation and dark mode which people have been asking for since they removed it. I just don't get it, like...why?

On a different note, I used Eats yesterday and noticed it has live activities (not sure since when as I hardly ever use it):



Was kinda cool, especially with the AOD

Strange. I also used Uber Eats last night and didn't get the live activity. The App was up to date but I hadn't updated to iOS16.5 at the time.

Well checking now, "live activities" is on already, both for the Eats app and in the FaceID \ lock screen section. Maybe the app wasn't up to date when I used it and updated overnight (even though it says it updated 3 days ago) I suppose I'll see if it does anything next time I use it.

Hmm my app version is showing as v6.164.10000 if that helps

Same version here. And I wasn't hallucinating that it updated 3 days ago. The only other obvious difference as far as I can tell is that you have an iPhone 14 Pro and I have a 12 Pro... but that shouldn't matter.

Love Activities for Uber Eats works sometimes. If you really want to try use the Uber app, that’s more consistent.

Live Activities for Uber Eats is rolling out slowly and is only available to a small percentage of users as far as I know. The roll out only started 2 May.

Love Activities for Uber Eats works sometimes. If you really want to try use the Uber app, that’s more consistent.

Does anyone know if live activities should work for connect package deliveries? I’ve seen it work for actual trips I’ve taken but can’t get it to work for document deliveries we use the app for?

Used UE last night, still didn't get the "live activities" experience.

Not sure it’s a feature I needed, but my battery’s maximum capacity dropped from 96 to 94% after upgrading to 16.5…
