iOS 16 Features by Model

Quick question…so if one installs the RC public beta which was released last week, and there were small tweaks done between then and tonight’s public version, will one be able to update to the latest version?

Just tinkering with the idea of doing it now, because I assume the servers are gonna be very busy tonight, and then I have loadshedding between 8-10pm too…

Or is it advisable to rather just wait until tomorrow morning?

Depends how bad you want it. RC released last week should be the same as the release tonight, no differences between the 2. If there was any differences, then an RC2 would be released (I think this happened last year?)

But at this point, I would say just wait. Yes their servers may be busy, but you should be able to get the DL done between 7-8 when you are hit with LS. Just make sure your battery is topped up

Thanks…think I will just wait then, even if it’s until 10pm, even if it’s until tomorrow morning…few hours are not gonna make much of a difference anyway.
 
I love the feature in photos where you can highlight then cut and paste a figure or whatever into a message, but do you think it will extend to pasting into another photo or WhatsApp etc. It's quite limited in it's present form.

I'm sure I saw a video where they could paste straight into Whatsapp

You can share it into WA but it creates an image without the transparent background, afaik this is how WA works.

In order to get it to work in the way you want you might need to get a WA sticker app. You can save your subject into a new PNG file and use that in the sticker app and add it to WA, haven't tested.

Edit: works but it's bit of a PITA to set up initially

Btw this works natively in iMessage I think, no need to convert things.

Was surprised to see the 15.7 option but yeah selected 16.0 as well, 3.03Gb on my phone

First time I’ve ever seen something like that on iOS, weird…
 
Didn’t get the option on the 12 but cause I had the beta RC build so it’s exactly the same according to Apple
 
15.7 first, or straight to 16?
