iOS 16 Features by Model

Anyone is having a huge battery drain on 16.1 beta 4?

It's been bad since getting 16 but this one is a disaster.

Has anyone else chosen to turn off the battery percentage? Was glad to have the feature but this evening I’ve chosen to turn it off and you know what? I like the aesthetic of the clean simplistic indicator.

I find the benefit of knowing my battery level more useful than disabling the few pixels the small text takes within an already minute icon. :p

Thanks! I have an 11 Pro so my battery isn't doing wonder but 16 is horrible.

Yeah I'm no fan of iOS 16.0.2 either. Battery life is worse and I have WhatsApp display issues and incoming call screen locks on my 13 Pro Max.

I have quite a few glitches too, the ones on top of my head are (by order of annoyance):

- battery, battery, battery

- phones can get very hot, far more than it ever was before 16.

- can't search into a PDF on safari, I have to download and then it works when i open it from Files. Insanely annoying when you work with contracts and letters on a daily basis.

- screen remains black if my phone locks during a call. Until the call terminates, I cannot unlock the phone.

- Whatsapp makes weird stuff, screen partly blank but not so annoying.

I'm not having any issues, my 14 Pro is giving better standby times than my old 12 did.

I'm only seeing what I would consider normal drain, a couple of percent overnight.
I don't have a comparison because my wife has my old one (Xs or Xr or something like that, not sure) and now that I complained, she doesn't want to install 16.

Probably gonna upgrade soon to a 13 or 14, but I wait to go back to France, my French carrier has a sort of 0% interest deal where you pay it over 6, 12 or 24 months with a low deposit (like R5000) and I can keep my 2€ monthly contract so way cheaper than SA contracts.

It will be nice when they combine the two battery icons into one functional one.

I’m definitely seeing why some folks didn’t like it, the clean icon looks a lot better to me, I’m still used to swiping down to look at the % funny enough if I feel I need to know the specific level %.

I'm happy with the % widget on my lock screen for now, though that could also do with some tarting up.

Same here. Not noticing anything out of the ordinary.

What I'm still getting used to is the way the macro camera interacts with the others - it's not smooth at all - very un-Apple like.

I use the Magnifying Glass a lot and it's really quite annoying having to move the phone to 'just the right distance' before it focuses properly - never had that issue with my iPhone 12.
