LOL at all the 4.3 rumours that reared their heads this afternoon about an early release (today) which never happened, I've now read reports of tomorrow. I can't say I am overly desperate to get it personally, so I am OK if it only comes on the 11th.

What does that mean 'akamai'd'??

Akamai transparently mirrors content—sometimes all site content including HTML, CSS, and software downloads, and sometimes just media objects such as audio, graphics, animation, and video—from customer servers. Though the domain name (but not subdomain) is the same, the IP address points to an Akamai server rather than the customer's server. The Akamai server is automatically picked depending on the type of content and the user's network location.

The benefit is that users can receive content from whichever Akamai server is close to them or has a good connection, leading to faster download times and less vulnerability to network congestion or outages.

+1 - I really hate vodaphone live!!!

This update seems interesting but not ground breaking imo.

Safari is considerably faster! and Hotspot works very well.
Downloading is an issue, the 670mb is a bit of a killer.

If you download with Safari, it lets you resume, chrome for some reason doesn't allow this.

Hmmm... lucky you - mine keeps timing out at about 10%. But that might just be due to the non-excellent nature of my IS uncapped account, meh!

I have downloaded the iOS 4.3 from this link, is this jailbreaking or not? I downloaded directly using Firefox browser as I am at work and can't install iTunes. I use a vodascum modem at home and you can understand how much it would cost me to update the phone.
