iOS or Android?

I have a Samsung S4 and a Ipad air so I've had a look around both and I prefer Android but to be honest both get the job done...I have never had a issue with the android OS but IOS is another matter, I really don't like not being able to do anything with a non-apple device without downloading some app or jailbreaking it....so Android for the win for me

So far since receiving my iPhone 5 last year July, 7 people in office have been "converted" to apple, all coming from Android and Blackberries.

Now my boss wants a MacBook after fiddling with mine, I hope not as his not the most technologically inclined.

iOS has exactly the same apps as Android, if non-proprietary-to-Apple is your thing. I use Flickr for pics, Whatsapp for messaging, Google Contacts for contacts syncing, and so forth. Switching back over to Android usually takes me a few hours to setup and I'm off.

yes, if you know about the trap, it's easy. but i have friends which isn't the most tech savvy. They decided to get a tablet, opted for the iPad and said when they upgrade their phone, they'll get a android. But when the upgrade came around they were fully caught in the trap that is apple and couldn't see themselves getting an Android device.

Obviously the non-proprietary apps is there, but most apple users aren't savvy enough to know about the benefits of not using those proprietary apps.

blackberries don't count. how many of the android converts are technology retarded? or how many where either drunk or bribed?

The target market of apple.

I don't get the whole fiddling on your phone changing keyboards, rooting etc.
It was fun for 5min then I switched back to what came with the phone.

One guy in office, HTC One updates/fiddles with some new root every month, almost bricked his phone on last day of work last year and had to reset.
It's like those guys that install jailbreak themes on their iPads as well, I just don't get it.

Tablet: Samsung Note 10.1 2014: Super powerful, brilliant stylus, Android, great screen for emails, internet and movies.

Not to nitpick or anything but... iPad Air is quite a bit faster in benchmarks than Note 2014.

Personally I'd rather get an Android phone and an iPad than the other way around. But eh that's just me.

That's just an ignorance jail then.

The target market of apple.
In terms of real productivity/technology apps, iPad has a wide margin lead - even full-fat Lightroom is coming. So how are Apple's target audience less technological? Because they don't want to ADB to root?

better how? functionality? or usability?

Take an Android and Apple, open up the Google Apps on both, Apple clearly showcases cleaner Google Apps, only that Google Now is only available on Android and Chrome (Desktop). Tell this to Google, not Apple whom developed their Google Apps on iOS. Things kept simple by method in Look & Feel is better in my opinion.

Personally, although on mobile I’m a 60% Android user, it became a mobile billboard, that said advertising is Google's primary game. Windows Phone is at this stage stealing my attention when it comes to business activities.

On another note, those saying that Apple is not technical orientated… I deal with various ICT entities on a daily basis, all business tools Apps developed hits Apple -> Android / BlackBerry -> Windows Phone and then still some tools will be limited on Android / BlackBerry and some never even hits Windows Phone. I did note that certain UK companies is putting attention to Samsung nowadays, limiting their apps to only work with the S3/S4/Note2/Note3/Tab’s, no choice. Everything mentioned here is related to business tools.

A simple example to those in SA whom deals with wireless, should know that Ruckus only now started to develop their tools in line with Android which was once limited on Android and only available to Apple, no Windows Phone plans I know about.

In this case you should avoid supporting Apple, Dell, HP, Motorola, Nintendo, Nokia, Sony and Foxconn products. Don't know why Apple is the most associated with these suicides (controversies), but both Apple and HP investigated and applied possible solutions to this case.

Although not known suicides throughout the media, but go check on Samsung's conditions in comparison with Foxconn.

Who do we support then?

But does Samsung or the other good guys Literally throw their emplyess/slaves off building like Apple do? I don't think so.

Plus, like... the Apple death star is fully armed and operational.

Don't take the bait... Don't take the ba... aah, fsck it.

The target market of apple.

I vote poll time. How many of the folk on MyBB do you suppose bought a Mac as their first device vs. how many SWITCHED from PC. The answer might just surprise the "only PC guys can be tech savvy crowd" here.

You literally need to look up the literal meaning of "literally".

Literally, like the CoTY!

The word spreads

On topic - use both, like both. For work purposes, iPad is great, for kids it's great (garageband has no peer).

Everything else, pretty even.

For me anyway

OP, go play with and apple device and equivalent android device. Make your own mind up.

Lol you took it as an insult. Of course a tech person can use apple if they want to. I'd love a macbook and even an iPhone as I mentioned earlier.

If I look in my circles, social and work literally all tech minded people run Android and the non technical people prefer Apple. This obviously just an observation. I think its pretty clear that Apple doesn't want you to fiddle too much where as Google is more open which attracts the tech heads.
