iOS4.1 jailbreak for the iphone 4?

Hey guys

I got my iphone 4 today which I am very happy about,however when I saw it had the new ios 4.1 (Boo) I went googling and could not find a Jailbreak for it,is this the case?

Is there any news on when a jailbreak is going to be released by redsnow or pawnage? I hate having to wait for jailbreaks especially when I have the devise ready to go...
 
Please tell me what the point to jailbreaking iOS 4.1 is? Does it not do everything that was previously the point of jailbreaking? I ask as a noob so please, no harsh comments. I have an iPhone 4 running iOS4.1 and I really don't feel the need to jailbreak it.
 
yep. jailbreak almost out
greenpoison in a few hours time for iphone 4 and limera1n for besides iphone 4
 
Ye can unlock your iPhone 4 / 3GS, etc. if you're running IOS 4.1, provided you didn't upgrade the baseband to 02.10.04 (Check: Settings > General > About > Modem Firmware). If you do have version 02.10.04, then you're going to have to wait until November or when Apple releases iOS 4.2. Is there a way to decide which JB to use? I've done some Googling and can't seem to find a way to choose which one to use.

My phone is v4.1(B8117), Modem firmware 02.10.04 .

EDIT: ...and could they not just use normal names instead of these weird h4ck3r type things. It doesn't install much confidence in the user when I have to wade through blogs about l1merick vs SHatter (You shat on what?) vs ultrasnow pwncabbage. Just call the damn thing iphone-hack-october-2010.

AFAIK there is not much of a difference, as the dev team incorporated the limera1n exploit into their greenpo1son. That means that they have an extra exploit to use at a later stage (provided apple does not find this first and close it).

So it is really up to you. If you want, you can always flip a coin. :D
 
Thanks for answering @renierp - you are correct. The Dev team were basically pipped to launching there software and then decided to incorporate the release that pipped them, so it really is much of a muchness..

Watch some of the video's and decide which seems easiest, personally I found the greenpois0n one incredibly simple to use..
 
The GreenpoisOn JB was dead simple, had to press 5 buttons and it was done...
 
I tried limera1n, which was very buggy - cydia was slow and laggy and some other apps would also take ages to open.
Restored and used greenpois0n and no problems so far.
 
You had to press sleep to switch it off

Then the home button for 2 sec, then sleep and Home for 10 sec and then only home for the next 10 - 15secs ...

Then click jailbreak and you done...

so technically its 2 buttons pressed a couple of times :)
 
AFAIK those steps need to be followed to get the phone into DFU mode in order to work on the backend of the phone

Either way i was very happy with Greenpois0n, almost as easy as jailbreakme.com :)
