IP Lookup

Does anybody know of any good sites out there to do an IP Lookup with? Also, how do you trace someone if they are on 3G/Gprs?
 
What kind of info are you looking to obtain from the IP?

Try www.dnsstuff.com or samspade.org

You can do a traceroute to a IP, but are you looking to trace their physical location? The cell provider will have to lookup which cell base they are connecting to. Using triangulation from various bases they can pin point their location fairly accurately.
 
@cavedog: maybe you should google "how to help someone properly!" see what comes up!

He asked a question, look how people on this thread answered and try doing THAT next time, granted, you won't increase your posts as quick you'd expect but you'll start to do things properly!

both these sites yielded false results for me. try whatismyip.com
 
There's a difference - whatismyip reveals your actual IP address. The other sites let you query information based on a IP/dns name you already know.

i know, but those sites couldn't even give me my correct IP so i wouldn't bother going further.
 
What network are you on ?
If you are on MTN it will display two IP addresses IE - Proxy IP and a IP in the 172.* range.

If you are on virgin it will be proxy 196.38.218.24-25, and a internal 10.* IP address,

What is your reason for wanting this information ?
