Hi, can you guys help me make a decision. I am going to buy a first gen ipad and was wondering if i should get the 16GB wifi model or the 32GB wifi model.

I am going to be using the ipad mainly for ebook reading(i have 3gigs worth of comics, manga and novels), web browsing and a couple apps(eg. angry birds etc.). Will 16GB be enough for this, as i am skipping getting the ipad2 and rather go for next years model which will hopefully have a higher res display(not interested in the A5 processor as im not interested in gaming on it.)

Honestly. Go for the 16GB - if you need more storage for ebooks and stuff get the dropbox.com application.

Save money 16GB will suffice

Was thinking the exact same thing, got bout 250 books and 100 comics on my itunes, and thats only like 900MB, so i rather spend the money i will be saving on a good case and save the rest for the ipad 3:o

i am more than happy with my 16Gb since most of my movies etc are on my mac.

What is the best app that would let me stream videos from my pc or mac to the ipad over my wifi

Air Video IMHO it works a charm and also if you decide you want to load some movies on your ipad it can convert movies too and send them to itunes for them to be uploaded once you sync again.

Personally Id get the 16GB. It depends on what you going to have on it? As long as i have my apps plus an odd 500 songs on, depending on what im listening to, 16 gbs is perfect.

16gb is more than enough for comics, ebooks, magazines, etc. Plus since Ipad 2 is released in S.A the price of an Ipad 16gb is R3500 (wifi only) and R4600 (wifi & 3g) at incredible connection.

Agreed with everyone, 16gb should be fine. For comics, be sure to look into Comic Zeal, the best comic book reader.

I see no reason for big storage on an iPad, especially if you are only using it in a home network with home sharing on your iTunes.

16gb is plenty on the iPad.. As others have said, you can stream pretty much everything. Just make sure of the size of the apps you want.. Some are massive. I've seen apps well over a gig big.

yea 16gig in my ipad is more tha enough i usually just delete the old movies and series and add more using by connecting my 8gig flashdrive so i have more than enough

There is a quote that states that you will never have enough space, but in this situation, the truth is that the content on an iPad changes so much, that 16GB will easily handle your "volumes"

the ipad is just an amazing tool that can probably revolutionize how people work in the future when it comes to digital media

Yeah, i think im gonna get the 16GB too, i use my iPod for music (About 10GB) and my HDD for movies (about 300GB) so i will just be using my iPad to surf and load some apps, and books (for my pops)

my iphone with 16GB is great and im thinking a 32Gb ipad 2 should suffice, also u want to keep the device for at least 2 yrs before an upgrade and 16GB might not be adequate...in addition, sizes of apps are increasing! 100MB and more is size!

whats the price diff.?
also u buying brand new or second hand?
if its a few hundred more go for the 32gb otherwise 16 should be fine

I paid the extra in for the 32gb. Knowing what I know now I would have rather went with the 16gb. I have more music than I can listen to, more apps than I can use and a bunch of books and I'm not even at the 16gb mark. I could delete half the stuff on my iPad and not even notice.
