Buy iPad now or wait?

My one kid will need an iPad fro school starting next year, current iPad Air 2 is just too slow at the moment.

iStore has them for 6k , 9th gen.
Should I wait or buy now seeing as exhcange rate has gone tits up, will next model come out, will prices increase?
I dont see it going cheaper than 6k
