Such a retarded device - but going to be the only iPad user that dislikes it and longs for a Samsung instead

Sorry bro, was here 1st. Bought Original iPad.... still think its a piece of crap, well except for the games that I lack on Android.

and yes a lot of apps cost money so if you on the us itunes you need to buy vouchers

Apps like Flickr, LinkedIn, News24, Bloomberg, Time, Facebook, Computicket etc - those are all free I guess?

How expensive are the apps generally?

$1 to $5 but some can be costly.

I dont have a problem with price of apps, its just most apps I have to buy is just done in order to use the device normally.

Office - Buy on iPad, free on ASUS
Splashtop - Buy on iPad, free on ASUS
XBMC remote - buy on iPad, free on ASUS
Finger notes/painting - Buy on iPad, Free on ASUS
WiFi File share - Buy on iPad, Free on ASUS

and the list goes on....

That being said, if it was me deciding between Samsung and iPad I would still go iPad... I dont like the 10.1 Galaxy.

So where did you get untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5?

Oh wait, never mind ;)

PS I use Samba on my Android so my file share is in both directions, excluding the USB copy

Ouch... I'll hold out a bit and see what FNB comes up with.

Dolby, when you get the one you'll always wonder if you should not have gotten the other. You will use the one and wonder what the other one is like. I have both an iPad and Android tablet. I got the iPad first and wondered what a Honeycomb tablet would be like, so I got one (SGT10.1). My take on this from my personal experience is that the iPad is better despite the "lack of freedom". My comments in this regard is all over this forum. iOS 5 on the iPad 2 hits Honeycomb for six. ICS will improve this but when Honeycomb tablet owners will get the upgrade is a mystery. Sammy in particular has a poor record in this regard. When Apple releases updates all owners have it available immediately. Big plus. For me the quality of apps on the Apple store is far superior (pre-screened). Etc.

And THAT is one of the reasons I hate most Android OEM's. They trying to force people to use the old system of upgrading the software in the form of buying new hardware. That model is dead, and we have to thank Apple for that.

At least ASUS already gave us the announcement that Eee Pad owners will get the update as soon as its available, as they have done so far with every update.

After you have played the hell out of it, open itunes, and watch some HD podcasts, this is incredible on the iPad. Oh, and there are PLENTY of books, games and media available through the SA app store.
There are plenty of games but if all you have to do is change your billing country on your SA account to Kenya to get so much more content (thanks to SA bureaucracy) why not do it.

iOS 5 seems to be designed around not needing a computer so it relies on services like iCloud which is fine by me - I have wifi.

With apps available like Snapseed, FilterStorm, and Shuttersnitch the iPad is a photographers wet dream.

To the OP - return it.

Hehe it's a cool device man. The only reason I won't get one is the lack of an expansion slot/usb. I like to keep my media on external drives, rather than fill up the built-in storage.

You can get the camera attachment and then with I file you can copy to and from sdcards

I cannot help getting the impression that Google decided to focus on phones, leaving it up to brave OEM's to make Android work on tablets (at their own risk). No tablet launch of ICS to go with Nexus phone ...

As the DigiTimes article states ... iPad + Windows 8 could well be future for tablets ... a rivalry we know so well.

Geez - is that sly way of telling me I take crappy photo's? ;)

I used to have an Acer netbook which I used to browse ... pretty much that's all I did. It never left the house and was always on my coffee table and on. When I needed to Google something, it was in arms reach - and when I went to bed, I'd use it to browse a few forums from bed and go to sleep.

Then Vodacoms network went downhill and I pretty much couldn't use it for the purpose anymore - and sold it. I'd like something where I can do that again, but a netbook just seems old now. The tablet wouldn't leave the house and would really only be for browsing ... which is why I brought up the lack of Flash

ASUS Eee Pad quad core + Windows 8... Now we talking :)

Honeycomb applications is really lagging behind, and I dont see an improvement coming soon, hell even Google dont focus apps on the device

Google+ and all the other Google apps are mostly aimed at phones.
