iPad2 Gets Official SA Release Date - 29 April 2011!

Hey all,

Also picked up my very first iPad today (iPad 2 32GB Wifi White) and really pleased with it. Ended up going to IC at The Glen at around 11:00 and they still seemed to have plenty of stock. Unfortunately they only had the poly smart covers, but no biggie. What I want to ask is has anybody had an issues with dead pixels on their iPad 2's? I have a single dead pixel that is particularly annoying as it's quite prominent on white backgrounds. Does anybody know what's the exchange policy when it comes to dead pixels? Do you have to have above a certain number to qualify?

Hey dude. I'm not sure of they authenticity of this, but check it out..

If it's really bothering you, try your luck for a replacement though?

Remember iStores are not officially Apple either..

Otherwise return it for a refund and buy another one :D

Thanks fxit_man. I'll give the IC care line a call tomorrow and find out how they handle it. Otherwise, maybe I'll give it a couple of days, if I can't live with it I might go the refund route.

No problem ;) Yeah why not! If you are going to return it though I would do it quick in case they run out of stock!

Demand a replacement. If they're difficult, mention our new Consumer Protection Act :D
 
@Maelstrom - Take it back - you paid for a 100% working product - and so it should be. I cant see myself having an iPad with a dead pixel - will bugg the **** out of me lol!!
 
Got me a white 16gig + 3G at DionWired Woodmead yesterday. Great bunch of chaps waiting in the short queue. Thumbs up to you all hope you're enjoying it ;)

I went and picked up a Cell C prepaid whoosh simcard for R999 which is 12 months x 2 gigs.

Used the following awesome micro sim stencil template and my super sharp scissors (Try get them at Waltons, roughly R40). I've made 3 working micro sims without mishaps using this.

Herewith speediest results last night in Sunninghill. Full signal bars simply amazing. Never had that on Voda or MTN.

iPad 2 is fantastic by the way. Love the noticeable speed improvements. My wife is loving the iPad 1 hand-me-down lol.

You now get packs without the stick for 500 less :)

Ie. Just a prepaid whoosh simcard. 24 gigs @ 2 per month.

All Cell C shops should have.
