It’s exactly the same if you use your credit card or a budget facility on that credit card. Actually, interest is probably higher when you use the budget facility.

Getting a phone on contract, yes, there is clearly a difference as maybe some of it is subsidised or at least you get airtime etc. It’s not the same as a decade ago though that’s for sure. Why? Because they can.

I use budget because:

1. The "special" interest rate of 7% is quite good
2. I pay my whole card balance off each month and I don't want to change that. Since if you roll over any amount then you pay interest on the whole amount.

I just spoke to RTT to ask why the phone is sitting unmoved in JHB since yesterday morning and my delivery date is given as 23rd. She told me not to worry, it is down to be delivered tomorrow. I asked her if she's sure? Yes she said, it will be delivered tomorrow.

Yes. I have no idea what that was all about but I've come to expect anything regarding iPhone launches in South Africa.

Nope, but from my personal experience with RAM, tracking info will show up by midday and be out for delivery the following day.
