I don't own an iPhone or other flagship but your sharing thing does look like a preference thing and a quirk of iOS. It is only recently that iOS has allowed more "open" sharing. So, it may be an issue to you but for people who live in iOS that's just something they accept as the way of the platform.True - on the chip you're right ...

When it comes to (anything) phones the number of people that are actually anything *close* to impartial is incredibly low.
I don't use them dude. I do know it sends to Facebook, Gmail, Outlook (using Microsoft 365) and Twitter having done that myself.iPhone cannot send a photo through to 3rd party apps like Instagram or Snapseed

You haven't had enough of Android to be unbiased to be fair. Out of all the OEMs, you had Sony, and the implementation of Android on tablets are still rubbish as of today.But you use Android and that's your bias. I used Android too, but moved onto iPhone.
Well, if you're spinning it like that, I had numerous Nokias, a BlackBerry Bold, then a Sony Xperia Z1 (and Samsung Galaxy tablet!), and now iPhones. I am the most unbiased person you will meet as I've used them all.

If I want to share a pic on Insta, I open Insta. If I want to send it via WhatsApp, I open WhatsApp. It's only an issue for him and him alone, because he is used to starting from the gallery and going from there. Am I right @Dolby ?

I live in 2022 though - central database of photos are shared all along.
Maybe Apple should be consistent though, and get rid of sharing totally ?
Why bother to even add Mail, Whatsapp, recent contacts etc ?
Why bother with a share button at all?
Some apps work, others don't - others are limited ?
I'm not sure I'm the only one - I've posted comments and requests from other iOS users from about 5 years ago requesting the same thing. I think I'm the only on MyBB though because, well, MyBB folk would rather stick a rusty needle in their eye than admit things could be a bit easier.
