iPhone 14 and possibly iOS 16 battling overheating issues

My kid’s iPhone 13 generates a lot of heat when it’s charging since upgrading to iOS 16. Not enough to show a warning message though.

I’m holding off until the first dot release.

I've never handled this phone while it's charging. It's still like my baby so I pamper and protect it a bit But I did notice that it's flippen hot today after taking it off charge when the battery was at about 50%. Hoping it will be fixed with an update soon.

You haven't had enough of Android to be unbiased to be fair. Out of all the OEMs, you had Sony, and the implementation of Android on tablets are still rubbish as of today.

I try and stay away from these IOS vs Android debates, because you just cannot compare iOS to the various iterations of Android that's out there, which includes manufacturers dropping their own skins on top of Android, poor software updates etc

I've dealt with enough people, to know that there were tons of issues on their iPhones since the iphone 4.

That's fine dude. I had 1 VW and won't drive another one again as I prefer Toyota/Merc, but then I suppose I don't have enough of VW to be unbiased to be fair...

I just prefer Apple iPhones now. Simple. The other guy can't wrap his head around it for whatever personal reason he has...

If I want to share a pic on Insta, I open Insta. If I want to send it via WhatsApp, I open WhatsApp. It's only an issue for him and him alone, because he is used to starting from the gallery and going from there. Am I right @Dolby ?

It's easy to send a photo to Whatsapp from the Photos app. Or email (Gmail app/Microsoft Outlook 365). Or Facebook. Or Twitter. Even used iMessages to do that. LinkedIn too...

Never used Instagram as I don't have an account, and then I don't use the niche apps he mentioned on some other thread.

True. That's the point. I can order KFC by directly going to the KFC drive-through. Or I can order it from Mr D Food. The thing is, though, that sometimes Mr D has less options than going straight to the source.

The point is use whichever method gives you the result you want. Neither is more correct or more wrong than the other. To blindly stick to one way of doing things is, well, just plain stupid.

Sure, I don't have a problem with that.. just pointing out that far too many Apple users around here, are way too biased in their opinions of Apple products, and that it just works. It's been said many times, that is not true. However, I can understand one being loyal, and not wanting to admit if things don't always work as one expects it to.

But, there are plenty of reasons for and against Apple devices, and for and against Android devices. The problem with Android, is that it doesn't have control over other OEMs who run their software, except for their own Pixel devices.. thus, it skews the way people view Android, because so many devices from so many brands are using it, and are implementing it really badly.

It's incredibly simple...it's preference. It's great to have the same ecosystem across multiple devices, where I can take a call from either of them (iPod can't). Sharing across them is simple.
Really simple. And I don't shout it from the mountain tops I've got one either. Got the iPhone 11 as the 12/13 were too expensive, and it's sometimes not a bad thing to be 1 or 2 revisions behind.

But some cannot accept that. Really ridiculous. Asking for positives and negatives of both phones to prove something to them. Laughable...

Well I must be one of the lucky ones.I have had iPhones for 12 years now and not had a days trouble.The rest of my family the same experience except for one incident where my daughter dropped her phone and the screen cracked.Even went so far as to purchase both my daughters MacBooks after the endless complaints about their Windows laptops.Not heard a peep since.Admittedly I had to spend a few ZAR more but well worth the investment.For some it does just work

Rather that is one of Android's major defects. All those bad implementations are part of the Android market. Thus they don't skew the way people view Android. They are Android.

Simply put, yes.
If the Pixel was available here locally it would be a different story. But there is no cohesive ecosystem across LG, Samsung, Sony, Oppo etc. They're essentially different takes on 1 OS that's available for use.
