They don't allow you to attach bundles to a contract. The ones you can attach are simply at the exorbitant top-up rates as above.

If I could dual sim, I could just get whatever data Sim from whichever provider at any time, and if they're crap, I could just change to whoever else.

A good reminder of why I dropped Vodacom years ago.
 
I love being with Afrihost so much. Straightforward billing, a nice app and they run through MTN which is by far the best network in PE.

Personally the whole dual sim thing seems utterly pointless to me.

There is so very little to gain. Cheap data is almost always **** data and do you really need it that much?

Don't forget travel. I've got a dual nano sim 11 but find the nano/eSim combo on my 13 much better for travelling overseas and using the data apps on the eSim such as Truphone. Really makes the eSim invaluable to me.

I actually used to be seriously pissed of at Vodacom for not implementing the eSim here, but even when and if they do I'll still keep my VC number on the nano.

Hi all.

Can anyone please help me figure out why my MTN number won’t activate successfully on iMessage and FaceTime and how to fix it. Only my mail address shows up with a tick.

I’ve removed iCloud and added it again. Rebooted and all the normal basic problem solving tricks. Had a support call with apple this morning and they say all in order. MTN aren’t worth a call.

I think the best way it would work in SA is through companies like Discovery, MiWay etc… basically your medical aid and car insurance being alerted that you need help and then contacting Netcare and having your details pre-populated from your Health App or Discovery medical aid card which would help them know which hospitals to take you to and who should tow your car etc…
That’s IF you don’t get robbed of your devices at the accident scene:rolleyes:

Good point. South Africa is so far behind the telematics game. Discovery would rather offer Vitality smoothies than proactively save lives. Let’s hope that changes and some bright sparks enable something like this locally.

Ugh! I've had that issue with Telkom mobile. Use a variety of tricks include activating international roaming for sms, loading small amounts of whatever data service's they offer, etc

Never quite figured out what combo worked when it eventually started working.
