iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

I get that, but why provide a cable in the box that can't even provide USB 3 speeds? I also appreciate Apples commitment to keeping their phones software up to date for 5 years but how many people keep their phones for 5 years anyways? :)

Anyways, this is not an Android vs Apple debate thread. I'm just disappointed with this launch - I was seriously considering ditching my Samsung S9 and moving to Apple, but I can't accept 20W charging speeds. I was only considering the Pro - not the Pro Max because it's too big in the hands and the Pro only has 3 x optical zoom??? If I had to guess it's probably going to retail for R28K with the base storage option.

Almost R30K for a phone with 3 x optical zoom, 20 watt charging capabilities? Eish.
If zoom is so important to you, then buy Samsung or get proper camera equipment. A smartphone is still primarily a communication device with camera capabilities, not the other way around.

And not everyone is capable of getting a new phone every 2-3 years, you would be surprised how many people keep their phone for 5 years or longer.

Stick with Samsung then.

Sometimes efficiency doesn't just translate into improved battery life... This new SOC is not only faster, it has an additional graphics core, an upgraded neural engine, hardware accelerated ray tracing, a USB controller and yet delivers the same battery performance as the previous model... Maybe, the efficiency spoken about translates into more horsepower per amp hour.
Hush now, that’s too many complex variables for an Android fan to consider.

Two unforgivable sins with this new iphone launch is : no optical zoom improvement on the regular Pro and no improvement to charging speeds.

I can't understand that in 2023 we have flagship Iphones that will cost north of R25K that offer 20 watt charging??? Same as last year! And all the talk about the efficiency improvements by using the 3nm process as not yielded much improvement or any it seems, in terms of battery life.

So no battery life improvement, no improvement to charging speeds, the regular Pro is stuck on 3 x optical zoom. Heck even the USB cable shipped with these Pro's (and Pro Max) aren't capable of USB 3 speeds either. LOL.

Watch out Iphone, the next line of Samsung phones are going to crush you. Mark my words.
Yeah no, I have 0 concern. A17 is a masterpiece, Not to mention iOS is superior to Android in every conceivable way. Ok wait, maybe iOS gets less exploits.

I see Andar are releasing a whole line of new cases for the 15...might need to consider that as I have a wallet from them.

Didn't know they make cases for the MacBooks...that could very very nice too but pricey.

iOS is superior if you want far less customisation. Android generally has new features first and then iOS eventually adopts them. Its laughable to claim iOS is superior in every conceivable away. That's just Apple coping. Or you have your green tinted Apple glasses on.

A17 is a masterpiece. Its barely 10% faster than the outgoing chip. No battery improvement, same slow charging for the past 3 years on a flagship phone. All the talk of titanium and its barely lighter than the outgoing model too.

Hyperbole to the extreme but then that's what you expect from Apple and Apple fanboys. :) Oh but look, the bezels are a little thinner this year!!! Wow, real innovation.

Who cares about fast charging? LOL.
