iPhone 15 Rumours & Release Date

Anybody received any updates from iStore/Core regarding the next stock drop? They’re basically just ignoring me now.

Yeah, I hounded them daily, a shipment arrived this week and mine was processing yesterday and has been handed to courier for delivery - 15Pro Max 256GB. Best option to get a response is on the "online sales" option on web chat. Godspeed

Thanks so much! I’ve gotten absolutely no feedback.

Even if they do answer, it will be very vague. They couldn't tell me, on Monday, when the order was arriving nor the size of the shipment, just that there was a shipment coming.

They played dumb with me and said “What stock drop?” and that they’re waiting for communication from Apple about stock and that they’d contact me if they receive stock. When I pointed out that I have not received a single bit of communication from them since the 22nd regarding my order, they just apologised. And apparently to reverse my contract upgrade to change to a 512gb unit or go somewhere else will take 21 working days.

Ja they really are quite pathetic. 1st and last time ordering through them, I stay in Malawi and there is even stock here floating around, albeit +-3500USD a phone, but proves that Core need to get there A’s into G with these preorders and launch availability etc. What a stuff up.

Quick question. I'm travelling to UK in December, and thinking it may be cheaper to buy the iPhone there: 3-4k cheaper at current exchange rate, which may mean I can get the Pro for the price of base 15. However, does anyone know if Core will honour the warranty? I've read that it's a global warranty but you never know with Core.

iPhone 14 Pro purchased in UAE. Motherboard or IC was gone within a week. As luck would have it, phone started acting up on the flight home, overheating and random restarts.

Device was booked in at my local iStore, they kept harping on about it being a simple software fix. Assured them I had wiped it clean and reflashed the ipsw multiple times, no dice. They kept emphasising that if they have to open up the phone and there's any liquid or physical damage found they would charge me a heavy fee for a full refurbishment.

Anyway after 2 days of them trying to get it right using their " special software Mac " at the back, phone was shipped off to iStore main repair centre in JHB.
After assessment there, brains were found to be braindead lol.

They had to order me a replacement from UAE or UK.

Brand new phone shipped in within 5 days but as soon as it was setup I activated AppleCare Plus immediately lol!

Long story short, they will honour a bombed out phone provided there isn't any other damage to it, and they're quite difficult about this. Had a friend denied warranty work because his housing was slightly bumped. No further assessment just a quote for a replacement.

Same with iCare locally. I've been on the wrong side of their stringent conditions and it's a **** show lol. Front glass is supposed to be covered under iCare with an excess or service fee, not if the frame or back has damage, they will charge you to redo the whole phone!

So in conclusion, my advice is, take that saving and buy it from any foreign country that has AppleCare Plus. Have done this with my past three Apple devices and you won't go wrong. US and UK you can even pay off your AC+ monthly over 2 or 3 years making it much more affordable as you don't have to cough up like 4k up front.

Core are a vicious and shrewd bunch and you don't want to be on the wrong side of their silly rules, especially when it comes to such an expensive device...

Thanks for the info, good to know.

I’m looking at the options and as I’ve used the UK App Store for years it offers AppleCare+ for £8.99 a month and the AppleCare+ with theft or loss for £11.99. So R212 or R289 seems like low priced insurance to me. Going to go for the theft or loss option.

Have you made any UK AppleCare+ claims in SA ?
