In those countries where it costs more than your monthly salary, most definitely. Even in First World countries it’s more common to get it from your carrier than to buy it outright.
 
So what are the odds the new one comes in for the same price the old one is going out locally? Then it seems a no brainer especially after the 15% eBucks discount and basically lines up to US price excl tax.

There are always new phones for hands-on first impressions after every iPhone Keynote, and it's pretty important 'cos folks like Marques has more than 17 million subscribers to his channel.

Noticed Marques got a shout-out from Tim when he recapped the 15" MBA too.

Betting they'll the same as the outgoing ones... Sh*tty ZAR exchange rate's already been factored into the price of the current ones, so, unless we're price gouging, there really shouldn't be a change.

So R19,999 base iPhone 15.

May be the first time ever I get an Apple cover as well and check out this MagSafe business.

Where is this bedside stand they keep showing in all the pictures with Standby mode?

Belkin, Mophie, Anker and Twelve South make charging stands, 'tho I just jumped onto Takealot, grabbed this and brought my own MagSafe charger... Others like it on Tal also.

The clear MagSafe cover was on my phone before I left the iStore last time, and it'll be the same now.

In most of Europe at least a lot of people buy on Apple's low/no interest plans if they don't pay in a lump sum.

Just go check the MacRumors launch threads and you'll see the number of people who buy that way.

It can work out cheaper, take the monthly Apple instalment plan plus a sim only deal and it's usually cheaper than a network contract for the phone.

That too, but still not paying the full price outright. Apple UK has zero interest and doesn’t tie you down to a carrier, so it’s a no brainer really.

Nice.

I have a 3-in-1 dock now but not MagSafe so would want something similar. My deeper concern would be that it doesn't charge my Series 5 Watch and would only work with the newer one...but I think that's the other way around where the newest one doesn't charge on old stuff.

The Belkin does look good, but at three and a half K, yeah think I'll pass... That Troo would also get my vote.
