iPhone 3GS battery replacement

My battery life isn't much better than before... So, must be another problem. Don't know what else to try?
If you running a bright custom wallpaper try change it to a plain black background. See if that makes any difference...

EDIT: In addition to that try running screen brightness at around 60%...

Running the standard background with the water bubbles...
But battery losses life when off. Over night it losses 30%+, just laying on my table...
Gees, no that is something else then... Shouldn't lose more than 8% overnight... Wow, that is odd. Do you manually close all apps before putting it off at night?

Jip, close most apps right after I used it...
I do have push email and notifications turned on, but when I turn it off it still drops about 20% through the night.

The background doesn't matter, and running apps in the background doesn't use battery either. What does use battery is notifications, particularly if you had to unlock your iPhone 3GS, the hacktivation messes with the notifications and you lose battery continuously, at a huge rate.

It seemed to be fixed with the 4.3 update though for me.

Okay so over night you leaving the device connected to data or wifi? Both are going to have an impact. Data more so due to the device continuously searching for 3G/Edge. I assume you have the auto screen lock set to 1 minute? 20% with the device in airplane mode and wifi off is about 10% higher than it should be.... Peculiar...

Got worse after 4.3. Worked great until about a month ago, then just went to crap.

Will put it on airplane mode tonight and see how much it losses.
It is connected to wifi at home yes.

Might be worthwhile to downgrade to 4.1 or 4.2.1 and see if the issue persists or improves on the older firmware. I'm running 4.3.3 on a JB iPhone 4 and am not overly impressed with the battery life either but not seeing the losses you describe...

My battery is draining quicker and quicker, and the speed of the phone(3Gs) is getting slower. for example, when i get a text message and press reply, it takes much much longer to get there than it did when i first got the phone.
Is that the battery or perhaps the updates?

what i meant was going from the sms notification to the sms app takes very long.

Yeah with tons of apps and stuff installed it can get a little slower. A fresh install of iOS 5 may breathe new life into it.
