I'm comparing the MTN and Vodacom offerings now and and I just have a few questions.

Is it really true that the MTN contract only gives 150mb free for a while and then switches to the 75mb? I still want some clarification on this.

And can you purchase SMS bundles or data bundles with either the MTN or Vodacom offering's airtime? Otherwise I'm leaning towards the Vodacom Topup 275 deal for the iPhone 4.

2. You were too exited to get the IPhone that you forgot to listen to the sales person. - Probably
3. Your hearing is impaired. -probably.

statistically, the probability that you will pay R379 + R275 is 3/3*100=100%

You're mistaken, I think you'll find it really is R380 from Vodacom and MTN, with no extra fees.

Can I use a CellC sim and their new 3G network with the iphone?
My plan is to get the cheapest 32GB iphone and the R1999 5GB 12 month data package from CellC.
As long as I can get at least 3.6mbps it will be fine.

You can always take the R275 per month and buy one gig of data that you can use for two months.

Oh yeah. It supports their 900Mhz 3G, unlike older iPhones. Quite brilliant!

At this stage I believe Apple Inc. is happy with the lies because they sell way more apps (and make good money) as a result. This a grey area. For me it's like prisoners of war forced to lie in order to survive and get what should be rightfully theirs in the first place. Apple is most willing to sell iPhones and iPods in SA, even setting very strict rules around the official launches etc but the new owners are subsequently stuck with severely crippled services due to indifference/incompetence/bureaucracy/greed/you-name-it on various sides. Often in life one must hack his/her way to a better (and actually more honest) existence. The "system" might not be my friend but an evil empire ...
