iphone 4s vs iphone 5

i was just using the camera specs since this is my overwhelming criteria

I think as far as camera goes the daylight photos will be just about the same, but the low light photos are far improved. That, and the colour reproduction of the screen is much better which makes viewing the photos a treat. I got that impression from the iPhone5 in the CellC shop at least.

see now this is the conundrum! if its comparable then why not 4s but then again if the most updated model is available. i absolutely hate upgrade time!!

It's simple though- you will not get a 4S for the price of Cell C's contract. R399 is a steal for the phone and bundled extras included. Ignore the 4S, get the latest model and never regret it.

Speaking as an owner for the last month or more...

The iPhone 5 camera is astonishing.

I don't know what the specs are on paper or if the megapixels are huge but the snapshots I have so far have really surprised me.

Sharp, good colour, not awful in poor light conditions.

Download Snapseed for free and you have a very nice point and shoot plus the ability to tweak a snap that maybe falls a little short of breathtaking.

If the camera is your main motivator, IMO, iPhone 5 is a solid choice.

+1 Use Camera+ to take the shots and Snapseed to tweak them. My wife uses HD Over to add text n that if you into hipster photo's.

The native panoramic funtion also works very well.

ohk made the mistake of taking the wife with. this is how it kinda went:

w: you must take the iPhone 5 (4s in hand after 5)
me: huh, why
w: its brighter and stuff.
me: really
w: yes this one sux!

lol. so the boss has spoken! :D but I worry if I need 2 hands to operate. I have big hands but might have trouble reaching top with thumb. camera is indeed sexy. pic was brighter than the 4s. but may have been location of store lighting. the 4s pic was very nice as well.

tomorrow we will see...

You shouldn't have any difficulties in that regard.

yes but her sign-off is required..
Men's taste in anything is questionable - as demonstrated by the increasing number of single men wielding android devices.

got my grubby paws on the i5 yesterday afternoon. havent played to much yet. need a screen protector and a case:(

initial impressions are great. worried about how my contacts are going to be transferred. i synced with google on my previous phone but contacts wasnt an option to sync. i added a CAP... account for the contacts on google but no sync happened after i added an account. will look into this today.

camera wise im pleased. low light performance wasnt great but fair lighting was excellent. flash was bright as well. will play alot more when i have a screen protector on.

i keep on looking for the 'back' button. lol. will update as i go along.

If you set up your gmail account as an Exchange account, rather than a gmail account, you'll be able to sync contacts, as well as calendars and reminders.

Why would you really want the 4s over the 5? I can get why you'd want an Android phone rather but the 5 is so comprehensively better in every metric (despite the bemused ramblings of Bevonk) that it's a no brainer.

Hahaha, I agree, although I do prefer the 4s because it's a little "heavier" than the 5
