iPhone 5 pricing from Cell C

This test of the iPhone 5 against some of the other top-end phones available now made me think twice before also joining in this craze:

Also, the successor is coming out in June, with the SGS IV and the rest also out before that time.

Choices. Choices.

Not really, if you wait for the next best thing you'll wait forever. There is always something better that comes a few months after you make your choice, that's the way the tech cookie crumbles. The iPhone 5S/6 will only be announced in June possibly, we'll probably only get it in Q4 here which means it's around a year away still.

The phones are coming out too quickly after each other now man. If you'll wait you'll wait forever for the best phone.
I have thought about this and I am android man myself and my wife is the apple one in the household. But even the new 5 is sort of behind the curve compared to the current top phones. That said she will be getting one eitherway to replace her iPhone4

I agree 100%.

Thing is, the iPhone 5 does not have a 'killer-feature', which seperates it from previous models, so it might be wise to hold on for the next round.

If you have an iPhone 3/3GS it will definitely be worth upgrading though.

Or if you never had a Iphone of Galaxy or whatever.

I'm on a Blackberry still. Ordered my I5. Massive upgrade for me.

Also agree that if I had the 4s i'd probably not jump for the I5.

Just got a call from Cell C about a previous application for a relative who wanted the 16GB 4S deal.

Apparently they won't be getting the 16GB 4S model back in stock.

From now onwards they will only have the 32GB & 64GB models available.

You don't have to be a fanboi to see its a good deal.

CellC are running some awesome deals for under R400.

iPhone 5 16GB: R399
200 MINUTES
200 SMSs/MMSs
500MB data pm

iPhone 4s 32GB: R399
200 MINUTES
200 SMSs/MMSs
500MB data pm

SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII: R329
100 MINUTES
100 SMSs/MMSs
100MB DATA

iPhone 4s 16GB: R299
50 MINUTES
50 SMSs/MMSs
350MB DATA

iPhone 4 8GB: R229
50 MINUTES
50 SMSs/MMSs
350MB DATA

I had my sights pretty much set on the iPhone 4S for R299 but the iPhone 5 deal at R100 more per month makes sense - I think?

How do you get into the first 1000? I'm thinking of taking the contract and selling the phone. The contract will be almost free over 24 months if I sell the phone for R8k+. Otherwise I'm content with sticking to prepaid.

Cell C's pricing for the 16GB model is brilliant. The 32Gb, not so much. For the 32Gb, MTN is R121 pm cheaper, and these days you can surely get enough data with the R121 difference? CellC should have priced the 32Gb at R599 pm. And if you want the 64Gb version MTN is only R629pm...

Why is nobody answering this question what will CellC's normal rate be after the initial 1000 special deals?

Don't sign up through the franchise stores. Rather phone 084145, you'll save the R100 or R199 connection fee that the franchises charge. I'm going for the 16GB iPhone 5. The woman I spoke to said between 7 and 14 days for delivery.

iStore Johannesburg (all branches) no stock. Vodacom stores JHB waiting for stock.

Very poor effort for launch Apple. Is it really the distribution that is so poor or are they under the illusion that this creates demand?

Got mine at the store in Davenport Square at around lunch time, store was empty, in & out in 10min!
