What Apple Didn't Tell You About The iPhone 5's Screen
http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-5-screen-2012-9
This is the 1st mention of this I have just read... hmmm... why no details in the big reveal or did Apple mention this ??
What apple have realy neglected to tell you about this screen is that there is no more Haptic feedback. Bummer for many I'm sure.
It is still the standard by which all other smartphones are compared.

I have the SIII and am upgrading to iPhone 5[/QUOTE
Hehe, exactly my position too. I also have the iPhone 4 so according to this writer I should upgrade. It will only be a pleasure to follow his advice. iPhone 5, here I come!
It used to be. In the past the Android manufacturers had to play catch up with Apple but the new iPhone has nothing that Android phones don't already have except maybe the locked down OS which they don't want.
All premium phones on the market (and recently unveiled) have screens larger than 4 inches. That is most defnitely the way the market is going right now. Users dont want a phone with great camera and great apps but a ****ty small screen. Retina Schmetina. Means nothing at that size.
The only reason why Apple is not following suit is because they are affraid that they will look like copycats and foolish because of their previous dumb ass statements that bigger screens are not needed on their phones. Now I bet they are going to increase their screen size over a period of time as to not to look like dumbassses. I bet the Iphone 6 will have a 4.2 or 4.3 inch screen. Mark my words.
According to market research on many of the Apple fansites (Cnet, ZNET etc, LOL) prior to the launch of the Iphone 5 one of the biggest (if not biggest) requests form Isheep was for a bigger screen on their Iphone.
Funny how times changes. Years ago there was a big drive towards smaller phones. It was cool to have a small phone. But then the cameras, internet browsing and apps in phones got better and better and suddenly there is a big change towards bigger screened phones.
That's primarily why the iPhone 5 is innovative. Improvements in every component but 18% thinner and 22% lighter than the model it replaces with improved battery life!!
That's innovation?
I said smartphone screens are getting bigger. Not the entire phone. Handsets are getting thinner and thinner all the time. Also lighter and lighter. The screen size increases however are driven by a consumer demand. Not by manufacturers being forced to do so because of upgraded components as per your reasoning.
I dont know about you but I sure prefer bigger screens over smaller screens...whether it be for TV or cellphone usage. I have a 32inch LCD at home, and boy, do I crave for a 60incher!!
You mean real innovations? That's the problem when you releasing new products every 3 months. You have to keep moving the bar forward. More ram, faster cpu, faster gpu, NFC, LTE, pureview, bigger battery etc etc etc etc
Next thing you are going to tell us is that the iPhone 5 is a masterpiece of modern engineering and the sexiest thing you have ever seen. That's primarily why the iPhone 5 is innovative. To me it is. Well maybe not the sexiest but it's close.Next thing you are going to tell us is that the iPhone 5 is a masterpiece of modern engineering and the sexiest thing you have ever seen.

Ideally I'd want a device that fit every single possible size and form, since I can think of an advantage of all of them. When I had the Galaxy Gio I loved that it was so small that I didn't even notice it. Now I love the SGS 4" screen since it seems just the perfect size to get serious smartphone utility and one-handed use. If I had a 4.8" phone I'd also love the movie viewing and fullscreen browsing.
As it is though you eventually have to pick one phone that's going to be with you for the next 2 years or more. Personally 4" is the absolutely optimal size. And then to complement it I have a 10" tablet that fills the largescreen needs. Perfect.
