Imagine apps used it for verification... i.e. imagine fnb needed pwd + finger? or at atm it asks you to read finger from your opt in phone? Better yet.. do we need passwords that are unique when you need biometric too? <-- i would totally opt in for this... i.e. authenticate logins with biometric + pwd instead of rolling code through google/apple (handful only), other smaller sites all linked to those profiles

I don't know why everyone is fussed over their fingerprints now. As stated already - government already has all your fingerprints, So if the NSA, NIA, CIA, MI5 or who ever wanted your fingerprints, they'd go straight to home affairs.

Why are people so concerned about their fingerprints being captured? As if the world's spy agencies can't already get hold of them if they want them? If a thumb scanning button will make you happy, then just get one.
 
As with the S4, I am completely underwhelmed by this release. They could have made something of it but with the pricing, I really think that Apple missed a trick here. Instead of trying to gouge the market, they could have made a good attempt at getting into the middle tier. Instead, they are relegating themselves to a has been in the future. The upper market is almost completely saturated. Buyback programs will only result in so many sales.
 
i think because of the fingerprint thing, the taliban will most probably move to samsung.

as an android fanboi, i really do like the iphone's smooth and problem-free software, but I don't like the restricted app store.

the build quality on the iphone is awesome. i also love the weight and how it fells when you hold it (when it isn't wrapped up in a protective rubber skin or case). dropping it is a worry with all that glass though.

my wife had an iphone4, so i speak from experience. she moved to the note2 for the pen (she's arty).

my wife believes the iphone is like a merc. it's for people who want to do things - work, make calls, send messages, listen to music, etc. an android phone is like a citi golf. it's for people who want to tinker with it - customise it, load custom roms, tweak the insides, etc.

if your phone does what you want, then good for you.

i do however laugh at the iphone vs android fights. it's a nice break from the religion vs atheism or ps3 vs xbox fights everywhere else. :)

I've never even remotely claimed impartiality. I'm a subjective person with highly flawed opinions about everything. I exist in a realm of solipsism and self-contemplation that would rival the Buddha. Does that make you feel better?

Anyway it's true. Being first counts for nothing in the real world. IBM had the first OS. Microsoft had the first tablets. Nokia had the first smartphones. Do it right or quit whining when you can't sell.

S4 is more like a Barabus, iPhone is like a C class.

You can see who has never left the country. US prices exclude state tax, so you still need to add around 8% to that price if you buy it in most of the US States. There are only a couple that are taxfree
