iPhone 6

It's a thin device, and common sense should prevail.

It's also an isheep mentality to think that Apple should be responsible for user negligence...
Its absurd. Im holding my G2 and there's no doubt in my mind I could easily snap or bend it if I wanted to. But why the hell would I do that ?

I'm not convinced...

Why?

[... snip snip] "The results showed that the 6 Plus was actually stronger than the iPhone 6, starting to deform at 90 pounds of force and having its screen and case separate at 110 pounds of force. The iPhone 6 started to deform at 70 pounds of force and started coming apart at 100 pounds of force. The HTC One (m8) performed the worst in Consumer Reports' test, deforming at 70 pounds of force and coming apart at 90 pounds of force...

The LG G3 started to deform and come apart at 130 pounds of force while the iPhone 5 deformed at 130 pounds of force and came apart at 150 pounds of force. The Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, deformed and came apart at 150 pounds of force. Consumer Reports notes that while other phones, like the iPhone 6 and HTC One, were still functioning after deforming and coming apart, the Note 3 stopped working right away...

Overall, the magazine notes that while none of the phones they tested were indestructible, all devices tested should hold up fine under everyday use."
[snip snip]

I'm not comparing device to device - there surely are other phablets/phones that will hold up better to abuse than an iPhone - and if that is important to you, given your lifestyle/profession, then buy accordingly!

But the "bendgate" story makes it sound as if the iPhones are just bending, simply from 'everyday' use >> which surely suggests things that the majority of us would be doing?

Sorry. I don't buy that. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that takes my phone OUT of my pocket when driving, because it's too damn uncomfortable - and I [mea culpa, mea culpa] sometimes use iTrip to skip though my songs while driving. The thought of driving for hours with a massive phablet in my pocket - who does that?

And then the media storm sees people purposefully bending/destroying these devices - and all of a sudden the iPhone 6 has a design flaw?

It's ridiculous. Sensationalism, and people getting swept up by bringing their own prejudices into play.

I saw a dude on TV fold an aluminium frying pan with his bare hands. After that, i've decided never to buy aluminium frying pans again because if it can't handle being folded by someone's bare hands, how the hell will it survive frying an egg?!

Videos I've seen of the Note 3 shows that the Note 3 still worked after being bent...

Doubt this guy is taking his plus back for a warranty claim...

After he bends it he says "you can see I was barely using any force" lol that's a lie,his thumbs looked like they would snap, check the left thumb turning red and bending to the limit.:D

A sealed iphone that doesn't go to the activation screen when switched on?:erm:

His claim of sealed is a lie, sealed would be taking out of the sealed in plastic box in front of the camera.

Look I'm sure these phones are bending just as I'm sure my s5 would if I tried it right now but these okes making the videos are clearly idiots lying in the videos, lying to get views?

I was waiting for this :D hahaha haha :) ;p

History will look back at this time as a very stupid one. People knowingly throwing away good money to break things which nobody would ever doubt could break. Pointless.

I own an android phone and I am quickly learning that my device is the true bastion of real sheeple.

Dude the guy used hardly any force. That was way too easy. The build quality is not up to par.

If people are making & taking the effort to see how far iPhone 6/6 plus can bend and what force is needed why don't they also test & check the strength of the screen by just taking
a hammer & see how much force is needed to crack the F*ing screen while they at it...

Why? You just need to bend the phone and then bend it back then the screen will crack. You don't need any hammer.
he tried to bend the phone back to its normal state. It doesn’t appear to have gone so well. The screen cracked.

Yeah the post below shows that its factually weaker than it's own predecessor and the plus is also a huge percentage weaker than its main rival, that is actually not a good showing for a company whose products perceived build quality was one of its highlights.Apple needs to fix this.

That's quite True :-)

+1, and up until now, #bendgate has been the greatest showing of this.

They'll fix it with the 6s...

There's nothing to fix. Finally something more sciencey.

Seems strong enough for day to day use to me.

The only thing that will change in the future is the next ridiculous factor non iPhone users will be attacking, hyping up, and blowing out of proportion. Which will again reaffirm who the real sheeple are.
