iPhone 6s warranty query

Im looking at trying out the 6s for fun , worst case my daughter will take the phone if I don't like it ( like the other ishytes I tried out ).

My only concern is about the warranty. I was told that the phone is unlocked for any network but if I use another Provider sim the warranty falls away.

Is this true OR the CellC muppet trying to scare me ?

Please note that the warranty term is covered by the Manufacturer not Cell C, therefore the customer can use any sim on the device that will not void the warranty.

We however will require a proof of purchase to confirm the activation date or purchase date on devices that were purchased from our Network, but not activated or used on our network to enable us to book or validate the warranty of the device that is being booked for Repairs.
