@SpiralS

I was told by MTN Direct that there is currently no stock and they will only be getting some end of the week. The agent told me that orders on the system only stay active for 3 days then get cancelled [in this case, stock shortage]. This is what i was told :).

I picked up my 6s Plus in silver on Friday, though I've only gotten around to setting it up and using it today. My initial impressions are mostly positive.

When I started up the phone I noticed immediately that my LCD panel was a lot warmer than my 6 Plus. I actually prefer a cooler panel (like I had on my 6 Plus) so it'll take me a little to get used a warmer panel (warm panels are one of the reasons I'm not overly fond of AMOLED as they tend to mostly be on the warm side). There are also benefits like lower eye strain when it comes to warmer panels.

I'm happy to say that they general lag I experienced with the UI in my 6 Plus is mostly gone. There is still stuttering here and there but you can see it's when the CPU is waking up. Touch ID is as fast as people have been saying, you can practically hover your finger over the sensor and it's basically unlocked. 3D Touch is interesting, I've not had too much time with it but I enjoy being able to jump quickly to common functions. It'll take a conscious effort to remember to use it and integrate it into my workflow.

Otherwise, I received a phone with the Samsung manufactured A9 chip, so I'll see how battery life progresses over the course of the week.

Yeah please let me know. I think I'm 95% on my way to Apple, your review might be the missing 5% needed :p Just basically deciding which contract offer would suit me best at this point

I just ordered a silver 6s plus 64 gig from Vodacom direct now, they say that its a very popular colour and have very limited stock of that available while there is still ample stock of the gold version, in case anyone was wondering.

My bro is getting the gold so ill compare the two when we have them. And Ill update here on my experience of moving to my first ever Apple and iOS after owning Samsung products all my life.

Hopefully they will deliver by the end of the week

Thought I'd let you know of my experience although you've ordered :)

The guy for the 6+ bailed on me and I had already given my S6 Edge to the brother... So I bought a 5C :). Really awesome phone and the plastic isn't too bad...

That was yesterday... Today, I got my white iPhone 6 16GB. Initially, it didn't feel like much of an upgrade over the 5C and I honestly don't love the white - would prefer the grey one. Much lighter than the Edge and just as snappy. Not sure about battery life yet. As mentioned before, OS is personal preference but I really like this a lot.

My contract is being cancelled next month and I'll be free from Vodacom in December! If I manage to keep this until then, I'll strongly consider getting a 6S on contract - unless used pricing is good.

If I change before then, it will probably be for a 6 Plus or a larger capacity 6 :)

 Why didn't you just use the money you spent on 2 phones to get a 6S?

Why do you change phones as often as you change underwear lol...

Isn't it just a schlep?

It's become a habit really... It's all very well organized now :p. 5 minutes to change between phones :D

It can be seen as a pain to be honest... But at least I can give an opinion based on my experience with practically every brand and many of the phones that I've been asked about :). Plus, it keeps things interesting :p

iPhone 6s clone...lol

I don't know why you keep posting such things here but anyway, those are more a mix between Samsung devices and the one of the previous HTC flagships, which came out with the antenna lines before the iPhone. But don't let these things stop you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Coming from a 5s, the 6s plus is one huge upgrade. Already using 3d touch quite a bit.

3D touch is, for me, the equivalent of having swipe gestures on Android. It's useful but not a necessity, can't wait for devs to make more use of it. One thing I can think of that would be nice is if WhatsApp would allow you to instant message certain contacts etc.

Same here.. the phone is big and thats the part i'm struggling to get use to. Other than that.. it works much like my 5S as expected, iCloud phone restore took forever and a day, 3D Touch/Force touch works but the use cases are few and kinda have to guess where to use it(besides shortcuts on the screen i.e for peek & pop). Just kinda impressed with the battery lasting forever haha

After a few days of use, it makes a huge difference coming from an iPhone 5. Battery life is great in comparison, speed perfect, no lagging.

And I have a TSMC A9.

Made the order for my iPhone 6s plus 64gig yesterday and it was delivered about 30 mins ago. Not bad at all.

Coming from Sammys all my life it is certainly a huge change but so far so good, 3d touch is cool and def something to look forward to once more apps make full use of it.

Ill update as I go along and notice diff things in case any other Sammy users are interested. Just need to find a good low profile case now

Just remember the really skinny jobs don't protect the camera lens (it will stick out beyond the cover). Unless the design has changed a bit from the 6.

The size is an adjustment, two days in, i can say its getting much better. The advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages in my case. The battery life is amazing though, and i see myself never using the ipad again.
