iPhone 6s

Decided to import from my 5s. If there's any lag or any other issues (which I doubt there will be), I'll start fresh.

Lord, but the Touch ID is fast!

Is anyone having issues with GPS? I'm reading that there's an issue when LTE is on, but today I had some serious issues where I lost GPS signal while navigating in Dubai on Here maps and all while roaming with data switched off.

I was following route instructions while driving but suddenly the location marker started jumping about erratically and a message showed 'searching for satellites'.

Luckily a friend whipped out his S4 and quickly picked up the route, but only switching on and off fixed the issue.

Most disconcerting and very annoying if this isn't fixed soon. I use GPS a lot and depend on my phone for it.

got a 6s 64gb silver this afternoon. busy moving camera roll and contacts to iphone via LG G3. very happy to be back on iOS!

tried android for 2 years and was horrible. Planning on selling the G3 soon.

Mine seems fine. Used it quite a bit.

LG probably have the heaviest Android skin around these days. Can't say I enjoyed the G3 either besides for the fantastic screen.

Touch id is ridiculously fast!! I also did an import from my 6. Usually go with setup as new phone but I know its only a question of time before 9.2 is out, hopefully jailbroken. Then I will take the time and effort to do a fresh install including setting up as new.

Other than lag, battery drain is the main motivator to setup as new.

Must say the convenience of restoring is not to be under estimated. 7-8 minutes vs up to 2 hours.

What was so weird for me, was I had forgotten how to engage force touch. Most peculiar sensation, the screen responding to the amount of pressure applied!!

Sweet, got the TSMC too. Very chuffed.

Apple have played down the advantage this chip has vs Samsung one but nice to have anyhow.

Awesome man, I guess you're quite happy to have received a silver one?

The QDOS one was R290... The imperfection is minor so I'm not going to splash out on another one for now.

Something I did notice is that, to me, it seems best to align the protector slightly to the left, because then you won't feel the gap between the cover/phone and protector when swiping back with one's thumb (which is mainly done from the left side towards the right).

I was pretty psyched to get rose gold tbh but overall, yes, prefer silver/white!

R290 is middle to top end screen protector. Applying them is such a finicky process. The bodyglove came with an extra sticky strip which one is meant to apply to the screen of the phone before applying the screen protector. It picks up any loose dust and particles. Worked very well. Does the QDOS include that?

If I were to go Android, I would definitely go Z5. Was actually quite tempted.

PS @PP how you handling the size?

I use TomTom almost daily, haven't had an issue with it since I got the phone.

I use Here because I'm generally on roaming and have data disabled. It's perfect for that.

But the GPS thing is quite a worry. There are reports of it for quite a while and one person even said 9.2 beta doesn't fix it.

Awesome phone, blazing fast, camera is excellent, but the size is putting me off. I just cannot use it fully and comfortably with one hand. Yes, I can type with one hand and use 80% of the screen, but then I have to adjust grip just to click the home button... With my 5s I can do everything with ease without changing grip. My typing speed is also about 50% faster with it. Seriously considering going back to my 5s. :(

Are you using reach ability function at all? That will assist with the 20% you can't reach. Try it. It actually very useful and within a week, instinctive.

Give yourself at least a week before doing anything rash.

It might be time to hold your phone in both hands and use your thumbs to type?

Yip, using Reach but it's very seldom one needs to actually reach the top, as swiping to go back is easiest, the main purpose of the top IMO. I do use Reach for tapping the very top/time bar to auto scroll up to the top of pages/apps.

But why should I? It adds a second of time where on my 5s I would have gotten through things much quicker.

I am losing time through the clumsy feeling of one handed use, slower texting...

For me, 4.5" would be the sweet spot, as it probably would have allowed for perfect one handed use.

The grip of the Apple leather case does not help with one handed use either. I might need to try out a silicone cover.

Yes I'll hang onto it for another week or so to make up my mind.

But one handed use has always been pivotal to me, because it increases productivity by freeing up my other hand to do things.

I can just tell that using it while driving is going to be a nightmare. :(

Yeah, it's not a phone one can use exclusively one handed.

Eish, sorry man! But still, give it some time. I can almost guarantee it will feel very different this time next week.

I'm not a fan of voice dictation/siri but you might also want to give that a bash as an alternative for when you driving. It's A LOT more accurate than it was a few versions ago.

So, the iStores currently can't apply for MTN contracts because the MTN system has been unavailable for a few days. Mtn idiots.
