IPhone and whatsapp backup

Hey guys I need some help here.
This is the message from a friend.
iPhone pro max 512 got stolen. Last WhatsApp back up was at 12:45 the same day. I used a small memory phone to delete info on the stolen phone and it only backed up half. I bought a iPhone pro 512 and it’s only got half the info. Can we get a back up to the last back up on that day?

So he wants to be able to restore to a previous backup.
Istore are bloody useless and I dont know enough about iPhone to help

Please can anyone help
 
When you install WhatsApp on the new phone it should download and restore your latest backup.

I also manually create a backup for if the day comes and WhatsApp backup restore fails.
 
You WhatsApp only keeps the latest backup, there is no archive or historic backups.

Yes you can, all my contacts are in gmail and on my phone. All you have to do is add it.

Its even my default all new contacts are added to gmail directly.

Just because you can’t figure it out in 30 seconds does not make it rubbish.

They only put it in the obvious place is Settings > Contacts > Accounts.

Guess the obvious place is the one people forget to check and then go online bitching and moaning that it’s **** because common sense is a super power these days.

Settings/Contacts/Accounts/Add Account/Google - sign in - add apps to sync/save

It doesn't allow for some reason a Google says it cannot be done we did a quick search but I will look into it further.

Same.

It's under Settings > Mail > Accounts. You just pick the one(s) you want to use for syncing contacts, calendars, etc.

Maybe that’s a result from way back in the day, but I’ve had my gmail contacts in apple since like 2015, back with my first MacBook
 
weird i wonder why it doesnt allow it? the contacts will have to play around
Whatsapp should offer the service of allowing you to select a backup at any time, to restore all previous backups and you should be bale to select which one

Not sure what your friend meant by small memory phone and such, there might be two backups if enabled.

1. The normal WhatsApp backup which allows you to restore chat history etc after reinstalling the app.
2. The iPhone backup, which would require restoring the phone.
