For owners of the official S.A. iPhone, two questions:

1. Does it have an Afrikaans dictionary?

2. Can you disable predictive text?

Typing in Afrikaans drives me absolutely insane.

1. No I haven't found anything for the iPhone in Afrikaans...
2. Yes you can, but at the moment you have to jailbreak the phone and install a small crack utility that disables it. HOWEVER, it seems that the next firmware upgrade (2.2) will include the ability to disable it (should be released soon).

I know the feeling man, autocorrect was driving me insane too, but the moment it's disabled and you get used to some of the more advanced features on the keyboard you'll love it!

It should be noted that texting is a major issue. In Japan lack of the emoji (emoticon smileys) made iPhone sales drop.

haha... Those asians are a bit weird though. They'll probably never be happy until someone releases a Wii Phone complete with smiling emoticons, anime backgrounds and happy face avatars...
