Kindly be advised that the Apple iPhone will only be released to Vodacom South Africa on the 20/07/2008. The Apple iPhone has not been launched on the Vodacom network as yet. At present there is no estimated time of arrival for the handset. Before the handset is launched it will still need to undergo stringent testing, which can delay the launch.
Warm Regards

I assume they are meaning network related tests, to make sure the device is able to work in the SA environment. Because, they cant mean device testing, as I believe this would be Apple's job
Is anyone else freaked out by warm regards ?
I got the exact email from vodacom. Looks like they only have one reply for everyone. What testing? What must they test? They are planning to see how they are going to rip us off!!!!
That my friend is fact !!they are going to rip us off!!!!
Well this past weekend i enquired at a vodastore when the phone is coming out, the very bored saleslady non commitedly told me somewhere octoberish/novemberish...
So yeah, looks like a long wait still :/
At lease give us some pricing.
Are they saying they do not know yet? And they are gonna make up a number closer to the time?
Surely not!!!
They know how much they are going to be charged to get the phones in. As they said they received the phone 20 July right? So surely they know how much they are gonna charge for it...
And if they think they are creating suspense, then they are stupid. coz this isnt hype. Its just poor from them. And I don't think anyone can be that stupid. I didnt study marketting, but even I understand the concept of Hype = interest = sales = money.
For goodness sake. If they are actually complete morons, just look how Apple did it in America, and copy that.
Yes but I dont believe that is the problem.Has it occured to you that MAYBE Vodacom are still negotiating with Apple and therefore have nothing to announce as of yet?
... I didnt study marketting, ...
Conspiracy? No just Vodacom being their selfish selves
