iPhone3G Official Blog

Why is it "for those who dare to be different"?

Well have you played with the iphone. If you have then you will see that it IS way different from all the other phones. Why DARE. because people are always afraid of change.

Maybe you have a better line for me??? suggestions are open

Actually every Jim-Bob and his dog wants one.

If you've got/want an iPhone, you're no different to the millions of sheep out there already.

Exactly what I was thinking, using an ipod/iphone is hardly non-conformist.

Yes, but not every Jim-Bob and his dog has one in this country, so if you have/get one then you will be different - in fact envied - from the millions who DONT have it ------ YET.

So now if you import an iPhone can you unlock it and put in a South African sim card?

Uhm.

According to the iPhone dev team, you can currently only jailbreak the iPhone 3G and not unlock it.

You can unlock an iPhone (1st gen) with the 2.0 software on it though! I just unlocked one right now, very entertaining!

Correct. Unlock for 3G will take a bit longer while the dev team works on a new exploit. There is however a SIM unlock (ala Turbo SIM of the early days) that claims to unlock the 3G version.
